insane
Just discovered this tune thanks to this forum. Needless to say it gives me goose bumps everytime i hear it. Could be the most beautiful song i have ever heard in my entire life. Does he ever play this live anymore? if not im going to request it all night when he comes to Boston...
if any of you are as late as i am with this song (which i seriously doubt) it is the third song he plays at krcw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH5Ulp4bxCY Last edited by jbpats; 05-12-2007 at 11:42 AM. |

Sometimes he plays it, it's quite rare though. He'll play it if he actually asks the audience if they want to hear anything, and then you say "Insane!" before anyone else says anything. Otherwise he'll just play what he wants, so for the love of god and the sake of the good people of Boston, don't request it all night, you'll really get on everyone's nerves... and wreck the bootlegs.

Actually, it's not that rarely played I've seen Damo live 7 times and he played it at 3 of those shows.
Top ten favorite older rarely played songs I've yet to see him do at a show I've attended (in order of how badly I want to hear them): WDYKAL? Didn't Take Long Fool Rule No 2 Lonely Soldier Is That It, My Friend? Bottom Shelf Childish Then Go Toffee Pop And, of course, anything new that he's never played live is always my favorite song of the evening!

I think you've just been lucky Spamlet. I've been at nearly twice the amount of shows you've been at, and I've only heard Insane the once (well, 1 1/2 if you count an abandoned version in Whelans).
It's the luck of the draw really, I mean I've seen about half of the songs on your list, and I'm sure there are people here who've seen the other half... it's just rare to find someone who's seen them all!

Spam, he used to play it a lot, but not anymore, in the last 3 US tours, he's played it just once I think and never in the West Coast...

I would have thought he played Lonely Soldier and Childish a lot, At least I've seen them a few times, I saw Then Go a few times too... and Toffee Pop.

I think that with the old unreleased songs it's a bit like a lottery... I've never heard Insane but I got Toffee pop in my first 2 Damien concerts...

I'm expecting Insane on the next album, it could easily be a single and could seriously earn him some major exposure (more than he already has) in the States.
I'm in love with it. |

Expect away, it was already a single twelve years ago and it's unlikely to be released again.
