just want to say hello to every Damien Rice fans, i've discovered Damien's music thanks tothe french rock radio OUIFM a few days ago... the day after i went to my music shop and bought thecd!

It put me down on my knees!

Yesterday i was told Damien is going to perform in Paris at the end ofoctober so i've just bought a ticket to this concert...

I'm sure it's going to bean incerdible show!

The song i prefer is "Older Chests"

"some things in life may change,
some things they stay the same,
like time..."

you should learn another phrase as well: voulez vous coucher avec mois ces soir? and another one: ne me quitte pas

it's very important to know these if you'll ever be in france

poor tania...I told you I would tell you more french! Anyways, bonjour Vincetrader. Je parle Francais, mais je pense c'est pas tres bien. Je n'ai pas les accents sur mon ordinateur. Bienvienue a le site. Maintent j'ai un autre personne a parler dans francais avec. Even if it is slightly horrible. Have lots of fun here.

Thanks for trying to speak french!

Ive listened to the song "the professor" and carefully to the end of the song with sentences in french, to be honest i don't understand every words, i think Damien Rice translated a english text in french word by word so it easily brings errors...

But as you can noticed these mistakes are understandable regarding the previous sentence ("I finished it off with some French wine and cheese")

Here's a little translation of the french part of "the professor"=

La fille danse
The girls danses
Quand elle joue avec moi
When she plays with me
Et je pense que je l'aime des fois
And I think i love her
Le silence, n'ose pas dis-donc
Silence doesn't dare
Quand on est ensemble
When we're together
Mettre les mots
Finding words
Sur la petite dodo
????

Ne me quitte pasmeans don't leave me. It's a brilliant Jacques Brel song, which in his turn was a brilliant singer. Download some of his MP3's (ne me quitte pas, voir un amie pleurer, le plat pays, amsterdam, la quete, etc.) and you'll see where damo got his inspiration from for "la fille danse". If i have to explain what Damien Rice sounds like i tend to name Brel besides Buckley, Radiohead, etc...

Salut!

Duhm, don't really have a URL presto, you people use Kazaa or even better DC++? He doesn't really have a website i guess, he's sort of dead for a long time allready. Looking on the web wouldn't bring up much i reckon. I'm using DC++ for P2P sharing, which is quite handy for these sort of things...

That's true, Jeff Buckley was a great fan a a french female singer called Edith Piaf (if you can download "la vie en rose", "l'hymnea l'amour"or even "la foule" by Edith Piaf you won't regret!)

these lyrics are available at http://www.paroles.net/artis/1001

I'm in strasbourg (est of france), but i was borned in Bordeaux close to the sea.

Gros poutoux is very affectionate term, with a lot of tenderness.

Keep theses words for your best friends.

One of my best friends was borned in boston, and she said that it's very nice city.

Take care and Gros poutoux too.

Oh, Philly is "just around the corner" from Boston. I've never been there but I think they are a bit similar. Here's a picture of Boston
