A) Im in charge
B) its not goin in any shops except if emmett will put it in the Eskimofriends one
C) tricky. maybe Mario?
D) You can only do one song! it doesnt have to be a cover of damien rice.
It can be ANY cover or ANY original of yours. Just make it your own.

a page each? so like a booklet? tricky. but yeah.
plus im willing to pay at my own expense to get it sleeved and the cds themselves printed with artwork.

I meant to say shop not shops before by the way.

If people do any cover they want then you have a problem with copyright infringement and it wouldnt legally be able to be sold without paying royalities, hence why I said to cover Damo songs because if we did that and got permission from Damo's management we could sell it, not only that but people are much more likely to buy the CD from this site if it has Damo covers on than if it was just original material. I think if we get 10 people doing one original and one Damo each it would be a cool CD with 20 tracks on which would appeal to non form Damo fans because of the covers as well as giving the musicians on it exposure for their own music.

The idea of sellinng it is to raise money for charity. that way no royalties would be paid. itll be one song from each person. if it is a charity record. then we could probly get it printed fr free. im not tlaking bigf scale. just some to put arund online shops, just raise money for a cause that needs to have some awarness about it. me and tim have been disscussing afew things.

Yeah I have no great plans for it or anything Lauren, just that if we go to the effort to make it we may as well wop it up in the EskimoFriends store to sell as it will be no real effort and may make a few pounds for charity.

tomm your like repeating everything ive already said., i already said put it in the eskimofriends store and give all proceeds to charity. i think making it less damien based would enable it to be slightly more widespread and so we could do a little more for charity.

As we have 10 people (more are welcome!) heres what to do:

1. Record your material. The quality of the recording isnt wholly important its the talent that you've got: use it! give your best to the recording as you have plenty of time. Once recorded send me a PM saying youve recorded and which charity you would like to see it done for.

2. I will then give you a password to the yahoo briefcase (eskimocompilation@yahoo.com)..may have to use a second one but anyway Carl Beevers (and whoever wants) will then master those songs

3. Carl will send it to me and ill print the cds (maybe with artwork at this stage) and ill distribute them to whoever played on it if they wish.

For specifically songs: One song! An album with more than 12 songs has to be a greatest hits. lets keep things simple.
Any cover of any artist/band or Any original or Any instrumental (rai !)

But if we do covers, can't we run into legal trouble?
Also, I think Emmett once wrote to me reg. the online covers project that he could only post released songs, so that'd apply to this project too, right?

I really really really really dont think we should do covers, I think everyone on the CD is capable of doing originals.

^ I agree, covers sounds like a mine field. Also, it'd be great to hear what Damien's music can inspire to.

ok sounds good. goodjob on organising this timee. Im no t feeling the donkey santuary. Sure it does good, but there are many more serious problems around. maybe like what timee said, we create a shortlist when everyone sends him the charityu they want. with a litttle summary of why. then everyone has a 1st and 2nd vote. 2 points for your 1st choice 1 point for your second and the winning one gets the money... if there is any. like £20 or somthing maybe.

And i agree with tommy tooo. There musyt be enough talent here, theres no need for covers. Lets just do our own things.

Peace out.

Can't wait to get this done.

i hardly think when there are human beings dying for lack of proper medical treatment in supposedly first world countries that i could be associated with a donkey sanctuary!!

regarding covers yes yous have convinced me. I hadnt realised the complications. Although, i feel that an instrumental from rai (and some sean nos ) is welcome too.

So only originals lads. good luck everyone!

By the way Timee, are you in favour of this each artist getting a page to put down the lyrics, art work, illustrations or pictures idea?

Excellent! A friend of mine is a good photographer... i think i'll ask her to give me a hand, as it would be a crime to let me even attempt to draw anything!

Yeah of course, i'm just thinking ahead of myself, and to myself, of what i'd do because i think it'll be a really nice touch. But yeah, an after touch.
