Default Toronto Show

Anyone here going to Damien's show in Toronto on Oct 14?
That's the only Canadian date announced and with the small venue, I won't be surprised if this show is soldout. I'm just really happy he's coming to Toronto

It sold out about 30min after the official Friday sale. I managed to get a good seat and i'm excited to see him live for the first time.

I'm going. I'm excited that it's at Danforth because that's where I first saw him in 2006.

Great!!! Good to know there's quite a few of us here. I thought all the tickets went to the scalpers.

Danforth is a great venue, I saw him there too in 2006. And yes, it's quite the experience.
I wonder who is going to be in his band this time around. Seems like everyone else moved on to different things.

Marti thinks it will still be a solo tour before the real MFFF 2015 tour

I hope he's right about the 2015 tour. It would be nice to see him solo and with the band too.
That would be quite a treat after a long hiatus.

I would think its safe to assume a full tour will take place. As we know he hasn't released a record in years and may not release another for a while again.
Most of the money will come from touring, record sales are not what they once were. Can't depend on those alone and as we can see from ticket sales his concerts are in demand.

I'm thinking he could return as early as November following the album release seeing as he will play New York City and Montreal. Might as well add another Toronto show (larger venue) into that list while he's in the area. I've looked around and noticed Massey Hall has no performances scheduled Nov 16-19 which falls nicely between NYC and MTL...

Not set in stone of course but my fingers are crossed.

sure the Nov tour is a big one with the band... he said to an Italian journalist that he´s not gonna tour in 2015 cos he´s gonna go straight and record album 4 anyone believes it (not me)

Smile Toronto Show

I'm going to the Toronto show as well! I couldn't think of anyone to share the experience with as I don't really know anyone who listens to him much and he means so much to me so I just got a single ticket. If anyone wants to meet up there or say hi before or after, I would just love to meet other people who love him & are gonna be as overwhelmed and happy to be seeing him after all this time

I imagine he has other songs from this albums sessions that potentially didn't fit or weren't finished at the time so its not impossible. Touring can sometimes bring about entirely new songs as well. He might finish it quicker than we're used too but wont release it right away.

Be glad to say hello zbevs and chat about how incredible the concert will be.

Yeah for sure, we can meet up! There's a bar inside of the Danforth or a place somewhere around the area would be good. Any suggestions?

I was at that gig too! It was so amazing, with the heat wave and air conditioning being out and him just being totally solo.

Was gutted when I thought I'd be missing this show, but thanks to the rescheduled date it worked out perfectly!

The venue's in Greektown, so there's tons of Greek restaurants around. Also, an Irish pub right next to the venue

Oh yes! I remember sweaty Damien lol. That's great, I would say maybe Damien knew you weren't able to make it originally and decided to change the date

I'm coming from the West (with the traffic during rush hour) so I'm hoping I can make it early enough to meet up with some of the eskimo folks.

Haha, whatever it was, I owe the universe my absolute best behaviour in 2015 for letting me have tomorrow.

I'm also hoping to meet him after show. Has anyone tried waiting for him to come out to greet fans?

It took him a while to come out after the show in NYC Sat. night.- about 90 mins. I think. It wasn't so bad though, because I enjoyed hanging out with the few other people there too!

Have fun tonight!

Hi all!

The show tonight was fantastic! Better than NYC, if I do say so myself

Setlist:
The Professor & La Fille Danse
9 Crimes
The Old Tomato > Delicate > a song I don't recognize! (lyrics were "pick yourself up off the floor...?)
The Box
Coconut Skins
Amie
I Don't Want to Change You
Stairway to Heaven > Red Red Wine > The Greatest Bastard (he was joking about trying to do a hip hop album next...lol)
Colour Me In
Woman Like a Man
Older Chests
Volcano
------------------
Elephant
The Blower's Daughter
Trust and True

The show was also full of little intro's and outro's that were just delightful. And when Damien was telling us his stories, he just kept mindlessly strumming on his guitar. It felt like a really intimate gig! Photos to follow eventually!
