Hey , I spotted Damien and Lisa at the Counting Crows gig in Edinburgh last August - and to be honest I didn't truly aprreciate him at the time. But since bought the cd and its awesome. I was disgusted Jools only gave him one song. But role on Feb24th Cottier Theatre Glasgow when I go see him.

I've spreaded the word aswell by gettin both my sister and my friend to buy a copy of "0", which has to be my album of 2002.

Hi,

I first caught Damien as Kathryn Williams Support act at the Brighton Concorde in the UK. It was the first time that I have everseen an audienceactually listen to the whole support act!

I was so blown away that I bought'o' and got Damien to sign it butfortunately before Ihad time to say who it should be signed too, he had done an impromptu sketch ofthe mrs. and I on the sleeve.

What else do I like? the usual suspects, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Cohen, etc

Othe bands I'm into are Radiohead, Mansun, Puressence, Geneva, Unbelievable Truth, Longpigs, Subcircus, Bluetones, Coldplay to name a few.

I'm from Bradfordin England so havemaybe been a bit slow on the uptake of Damien Rice. First saw him perform Blowers Daughter on Later withJools Holland. Thought that was pretty damn good so bought the album and went to see him live in Manchester. Wasn't sure what to expect but absolutely blown away. I think i have a fairly reasonable taste when it comes to contemporary music and i haven't heard anything as good as this for ages. Bought the EP, loved it and can't wait for the next recording/performance. Fantastic stuff.

Hi Im Avril-Jane 23 from Cork lived in Galway for 5 years and 3 years i met a guy (who is now a friend) who knew damien had travelled in europe with him so my intro to damos music was through someone else playing his songs before 'O' and long before the first single which is weird cause i knew the songs long before i knew how damo performs them!

His music is timeless my x boyfriend & i had a lot of memorieswith his music and we introduced some aussies to him too so spread the word people!

Im Daragh. 23 and a electronics student from Tallaght. I first saw (and heard of) Damien Rice at Witnness'02, while i was waiting for "Badly Drawn Boy" to come on, and only caught the last 2 songs he played. Cant remember the 2nd last, but the last song was "The Blower's Daughter", and he blended the end into Radioheads "Creep", totally catching everyone out (well i didnt see it coming anyway!!). I couldnt get that song out of my head for the whole summer!! I went out and bought "O" and downloaded every mp3 i could get my hands on. I've loads of covers and unreleased stuff thats good enough for any album. The bloke is amazing, and i cant wait for Witnness'03!!

Love to hear that Glastonbury went well for him, and i now he'll keep getting bigger and bigger. I remember following Coldplay before they played Glastonbury and saw how they hit the big time and know it's gonna happen for Damo 2!!

hi,

I'm Alistair, age 21, from milton keynes atm and canterbury usually. First heard of damien via the counting crows.. heard he was one of their support acts so i thought i'd check him out and managed to get hold of volcano and amie. After that (especially amie) i had to go straight out and buy 'O'. Which soon became one of my favourite albums and still is really.

Saw him the other day at glastonbury for the first time after missing him at V a previous (mebbe last) year. They kept giving him 5 minutes extra due to the raveonettes losing their equipment, and he ended up playing a set twice as long as it was meant to be which was great for the crowd. He even threw a little bit of creep in :]

My Favourite song is probably The proffesor. Other bands etc. i listen too ... Counting Crows, Tom Mcrae, Gemma Hayes, Radiohead, John butler trio. ooh and someone mentioned longpigs up there aswell, nice to hear their name mentioned again.

Been coming to this site for a while now mainly for the tabs so thanks to emmet for making it for everyone.

Hope that all made sense. Hugs xx
