Thumbs up James Vincent McMorrow

Despite his album being released a year ago, he has just released it this week in America/Canada..
Can stream it here, but i encourage anyone to buy it.. one of the best debuts ive heard in a long time. Dont think he will shake the Bon Iver comparison, but its hardly a bad thing..

Adore this video too...

I like it a lot. Very Bon Iver-ish. Nice. Thanks for the heads up!

Saw him live in Paris and was completely blown away!!!! Very very good, amazing voice... the Parisiene audience was very well behaved, you couldn't hear a pin drop, did tons of videos...

I did confuse him with Bon Iver when I heard him on Parenthood I asked what song it was in the TV shows thread

I don't know why, but I can't seem to get into him no matter how much I try.

Don't think it's a matter of trying... I think his voice is kinda peculiar so you get it or you don't. I've been trying all my friends to like him, some do, but most don't... and at first I was kinda frustrated, but now I accept it

I still remember the 1st time I listen to him, 5 seconds into Follow You Down To The Red Oak Tree and I was totally mesmerized, so for me it was instant then I got the album and was equally impressed to the point of taking a plane inpromptu and flying to see him play live in Paris, and he was amazing live... so for me he's been the best thing of 2011

I actually find his voice too r n'b/poppy, a bit like William Fitzimmons. It's like it's just not as deep as I'd like - emotionally, not tonally. I dunno, I'd go see him live if I could, maybe that would help...

I kinda disagree about his voice, for me he really transmits a lot... but I also like Fitzsimmons, actually I think Fitz is my #1 in terms of vocals, best vocalist of the current bunch of singer-songwriters
