wait, did I miss something? He left Fleet Foxes? He doesn't go by the name of J. Tillman anymore?
I love the song, anyway! |

Yup, he's a shifty guy that one. It makes sense, cause Father John Misty is somewhat louder than J. Tillman in many ways.

Yes, you're right, but I hope he didn't totally abandon the J. Tillman project... that singer-songwriter slow mellow stuff was amazing

You never know, I think I saw an hour-long internet Q & A-session with him - he's funny and sarcastic as ****, but also opens up a bit:

I think it will be my fave album this year, unless someone like Fiona Apple makes something incredible, which isn't unlikely..

I did and did and then i did again, but... urgh, that voice. And I love IE David Gray, who also has a wobbly voice. But this nasal wobbly voice aint doing it for me I'm afraid.

oh Cille how meanie you are to the Tallest Man personally I think his voice is an acquired taste, a bit like anchovies haha I think that with time you get used to it... now his voice sounds perfectly normal to me...
but Cille why you say Davig Gray is woobly? sounds normal to me

Yeah it's kind of wobbly and nasal too... His head is the wobbliest of all though!
I don't like anchovies...... Back to Father John Misty. He's mad it seems. Am loving him!

Cille? What the fück man? This new flair is freaking me out.
Just left the FJM pre lollapalooza show. He never fails to amaze me from downing 3 red stripes and a bottle of fireball during the show. Talking about this show being the first time that he wasn't tripping when he played Chicago. Fighting with a fan about corporate festivals and his lack of compensation. And the cherry on top, played a request of mine. James Blues of J.Till's Vacilando!!!!! So fücking good. The whole show was. Happiness is a warm gun was bad ass and the jams on the misty tunes can't be beat. He is the truest rock star of our generation. Pumped to see him again tomorrow. |

Woaaah he played a J Tillman tune! AWESOME!!!! I remember reading that he didn't think he'd ever play the old songs again, this gives me hope that the Tillman and the Misty will finally melt together in a big beautiful musical bowl of awesome. He really a great performer. I read a great piece on him recently about how he tends to piss people off at his concerts with his sarcasm. People don't always get his wit, I think. So brilliant, and so so effed up.

Haha. Exactly. The tortured artist with a sick sense of humor.
No the flair was the new cover art. By the way you should see the new poster/stage poster. It's insanity. It's a massive sheet with a fück you to every corporate exploitation mixed in with a bunch of naked women an a picture of him ass naked at the top in the hall of fame. |

Aw thanks Life's a bit tough for me these days so haven't been here so much - haven't even been all that excited about the new Damien album, don't know why. Much more excited with our Father John Misty and Jeff Tweedy's solo stuff these days. But who knows, maybe I will rediscover Damien soon?
