for the new ones...
- the best MFFF is the one he did on the radio for that Dermont show - Bastard, the one from Berlin with the Somewhere line - Change You, always better without strings, solo guitar - The Box, not that crazy about the Iceland version, too much going on - Trusty & True, with audience instead of a choir. Donīt like that the choir always sings the same as him, I prefer with the audience singing something different from what heīs singing - Colour Me In, the Guardian session

some old ones I really like:
- Grey Room from Fingerprints, almost a Lisa-Damo duet - Rootless Tree from Whelans, with the "itīs hell when Iīm around" part - all the ones he did at the Basement (9 crimes, TBD)

'cause a new album means we get to hear new songs, there's a new tour, a vinyl record, interviews and so on

except for the songs on 9, I find that I always come back the studio versions somehow. Listening to the albums, especially O often brings me stronger emotion, which the live version can't. maybe mostly because of the cello I think.
speaking of live versions, here are some extraordinary ones: Eskimo What this night is for + Sleep don't weep Accidental Babies Grey room 9 crimes Colour me in The blower's daughter most of the videos are after Lisa, and maybe I'm of the few who don't like Damien + Lisa live |

he made some big productions mistakes x 9... especially Accidental Babies, Rootless Tree,... thatīs why the live versions always sound better

I tend to prefer live versions of every song from the new album. I don't know why, but I feel that the emotion got somehow lost with to much production on the album.
The 'Trusty and true' version from Michelberger Lobby is a really good one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Yit1OqUfMg&t=1h03m14s My favorite 'Accidental babies' version is definitely the one @ KCRW, even if the voice of the speaker at the end almost ruins it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7nHy_zAL50 Underneath. |

damo songs evolution: soft turn to rough, longer, looper. I'll wait for a lightly version of me, my yoke & i
i never really enjoy any live version of the blower's daughter. Elephant is my all time fav, it was always great but lately, not anymore
