Glen Hansard 'It Was Triumph We Once Proposed…Songs of Jason Molina'

On March 17, Glen Hansard will release 'It Was Triumph We Once Proposed…Songs of Jason Molina,' an EP of material in tribute to his friend and colleague Jason Molina. Jason Molina is the revered singer-songwriter behind the project Songs Ohia, who passed away two years ago this March.
All profits will be donated to a charity in Molina’s honor.
The EP features their friends, the musicians Jeff Panall, Jennie Benford and Dan and Rob Sullivan. These five had known Molina since his days at Oberlin and had toured and performed with him on such key recordings as 'Didn’t It Rain' and 'Magnolia Electric Co.'

Glen played a surprise show at the Scratcher pub in NYC last night, a bunch of friends and I were lucky to be in attendance. They played a handful of the songs from this album, and are appearing on Letterman tonight.

We were incredibly fortunate to be sitting on the floor, less than three feet from him. At one point, he got behind the drum kit. This is a pic my friend snapped (I had only brought my iPhone and my pix are crap)

the little big tour of ireland, myles o´reilly short film, featuring glen hansard and lisa o´neil (that girl is hilarious!)

Myles is the best (and the film is brilliant)!
His videos always seem to capture the essence of what's going on. I really love his style. (makes me want to switch to videography

)

Lisa O'Neill played in Brussels a couple of weeks ago, and I photographed her set. She's great! (and very humorous indeed)

Glen is doing an in store gig in my favourite record store in Amsterdam the day before Damien plays at DTRH festival (also in the Netherlands)

I wonder if/hope that he'll join Damien on stage the next day.

Thanks for sharing those videos, Caroline! I've been obsessed with the Winning Streak single, but I hadn't seen this in-store yet. Did you hear the song at the ~26 minute mark?! Hold On Magnolia sounds a lot like Delicate. Heh heh. Great minds think alike. I'm pretty psyched for this new album, but even more excited for a tour.

Hehe, I did. For a couple of seconds I thought he was going to do a cover

Very exited about the new album and tour as well! it will be my first (& maybe second) Glen gig

Would have loved to be at that in store gig, but the timing was just really bad.
