no way he's going to fill a 3000-people room if each ticket costs 143 dollars...

mango, are you going?

Mmm though it would be not perfect, I will do my best.
He will come to only Korea not other Asia contries.
yh it's neither a tour nor several gig in korea. only one time!
So H.card might suggest an appropriate guarantee and
the accountability for the concert's success is Audience's.

Korean music market is smaller than other countries such as Japan, the US..
besides, He has a narrow base(mania) with people. I mean he's not a superstar like U2, coldplay, etc.

It's just my opinion.
R seat = $114 seems about right.. (S seat is 114$ without H.card/ and 91 for H.card user..)

I posted about it (He will have a performance in Korea) and ppl leave some reply 'I will not go there. too expensive!'

Oh no...:O I'm very worried about it... eww

yh everybody says like you
a fan twitted 'Is R seat be on Damien's lap?' and it was retwitted over 100 times -_-

yes I should go to see him of course..
and also go to Airport to greet him like a groupie. hehe..

That is disgustingly expensive - if it's only for him (and Hyundai), and not for a whole festival program?

That's just what I mean !!
I'm not sure whether Hyundai made an efforted enough to held more concert in other Asia countries (if it would be connected to Asia tour, the price could be low and many his fans in Asia can enjoy wonderful his gigs, right?) or other good concert such as Festival.

his first concert and H.card, is now the talk of the town among ppl who love music.
ppl who visit my blog still leave reply 'I can't go there..too expensive'. Darn! and I might not go to see him either... :/
on second thoughts,my exam application price will more 1000 dollars crazy .... I have no money enough..
heartbreakingly sad now

I don't know a whole lot about the music industry, but doesn't Damien have any kind of say in this? Especially knowing Damien for who he is, wouldn't he be the last person to lend a hand or be involved in something as this, that is basically the commercialization of music?

yes I know What kind of man is he..that's why I feel sad about it!
This concert and his personality are completely different!
and of course I'm sure he didn't involve deeply in this matter when they plan this gig.
I think H.card marketing is unprecedented matter.
they also give free tickets to their VIPs. (do other companies like this?)
I wish they get off In the world of performance FOREVER.
Ticketing has already started..and yh I've gone mad XD phew..

I'd be surprised if he knew how much a ticket costs... but I guess it all depends on his cachet AND especially the venue rental fee...
Here in Italy, you can go see a band in a 'normal' venue, and pay like 20€, and then the same band plays in a theater and the price is something like 60-70€... This happened with Damien in 2007 too, he played in a theater and tickets were 50€ at least...
Now, considering it's his first gig in Korea (right?), it's only one date and it's in an amazing (and expensive) venue, I'd say it's 'normal' that tix are expensive... Well, not 143 dollars but I'd easily pay 90-100 dollars for a good seat... The thing is, which percentage of that money goes to Hyundai? And why is Hyundai involved in the first place? Are they sponsoring the event? (And if they are, shouldn't tickets be cheaper, because a part of the theater rent is covered, etc.?)

Anyway, Mango, did you buy your ticket?

You got a ticket, Mango?

Yeah, Damien is probably not personally involved with booking, but his management should be aware if this kind of stuff since is not what people expect of the Damien experience.

Still, it doesn't seem like he's bringing loads of gear and a full band or anything, can't be THAT expensive to travel to Korea?

The question is: how much money does he(/his management) ask?
I think he's not the cheapest artist right now... Even if he has his ideas and philosophy towards money and life and art and all, he's making a living out of it and if he's not touring or selling new records right now, I guess he also needs some money to pay his bills?
Plus, traveling to Korea seems expensive to me, a round ticket is maybe 1000€? And even if he plays solo (are we really sure he's going to be solo? Maybe Vyvienne shows up too?) at least his tour manager is going to travel too...

Anyway, I don't agree with the price, it's too expensive for me as well... I'm just trying to justify how a ticket could be this expensive...

5€? ..Yes I've heard how much cheap and easy to get a ticket in other countries than in korea. But comparing to other countries, we have few chance to see them.
If the ticket price were cheaper and the vanue were smaller,
Damien should make perform over a hundred times!
I'd better go to see him while I traveling overseas..:/

I dunno what is the margin for distributing H.card.
and yes they are sponsor of this concert.
Quite many ppl have made Hyundaicard to get a cheaper ticket
and ticketing a day earlier. Anybody who make money except student willing to the card for thier fav singer or musical or show..
That's their marketing. what a perfect business for them :S
Ah! Venue rent fee! example, Mika's first gig in Korea was 86$ 1800ppl ,
2th gig was same venue as damien's , 2300~2500ppl, 86$ again
3th gig by Hcard, same venue, Almost same ppl numbers, 114$.
The only problem is whether they intervene or not I think..

and I am not sure how much they offered to damien team for this gig.
But sure Hcard made a good offer.

Most of the seats have sold already.
That's good He will see and feel how many his korean fans love him..
And I couldn't get a ticket..My friends are student..I dared not borrow money from them and also put the arm on my parents haha
Today is sadest day in recent years
this is unfair..I can't beileve the fact I can't go there
No amount of money could buy the profound impession his perform provide..
I hate myself so much :/ Why I decide to study this year..
I just keep listen to his song over and over
crying crying crying

wait, wait, wait... aren´t you going? mango, if you think your parents can afford the ticket, ask them for a loan. you will pay them after all. seriously, don´t let yourself being so sad if you feel that way because you´re not attending the gig!

i remember one of the EF (i think it was Nine) said, as a joke: "let´s bring one euro for verena can come to europe and see damien live" (something like that, and i remember i was weeping cause the only idea was utterly sweet). so, i´m not joking now... let´s bring 1, 2 or even 5 euros for mango can go to the gig. i have no idea how we can collect the money, but i´m sure there´s a way (paypal maybe?). i know it might sound insane, but it´s not if you think a little bit unselfishly about it.

anyway... mango, i truly and deeply hope you can find a way

Wow, this is becoming so tragic all of a sudden, coming down to a personal level. I can't help with the money problem, but I hope you really end up with a ticket somehow. Knowing Damien, I think you're facing a once in a lifetime event. And it's unfortunate that it has to come to this.

every artist has a caché and that's what the promoter has to pay to hire him... if then the promoters wants to sell the tix at 100E or 1000E is up to the promoter... or even put it as a free gig... the artist cannot say a word at this point...

regarding caché, some artists are more expensive than others... some are so expensive that promoters do not risk it and do not hire them cos they'd have to put the tix prices so high that no one would buy...

but 140$ = 100E... that's not super super super expensive... big names in Europe do cost like that

but glad you finally bought tix Mango!!!!

I have a feeling this gig might me a sort of pre-record gig... like the tour he did with Fiona Apple in 2006 where he played a few songs off 9

I expected he will sing some new songs though..
Omg if he play us a few songs of new album...
I must take good camera *.*

Korean perform staff prevent audience from taking pic or vid during gig!
always a few ppl managed to make bootleg or nice pics & vids haha
btw, He hardly takes pic with his fan or autograph??
I've only seen his some pic with his fan but never seen his autograph!
hmmmm
I am sure he won't make M&G
but really hope I could meet him after gig !
I know an exit where artist comes out after gig *3*
