I hope he plays something new, or one of those unreleased that he so rarely plays now.

I'm on row 15... but there really aren't bad seats in the tabernacle.. What a great venue for Damien.

Selling my beloved tickets
I can't make it to Atlanta because of my son, so I'm selling them here first if anyone is interested. I have 3 tickets total. Two of them are Section 103, Row A (front row in that section), Seats 5-6. After all the lovely fees I paid $97.45 for them. The other is Section 104, Row Q, Seat 1. I paid $52.40 for that one after said fees. Also, I have one parking ticket for The Tabernacle, which in total cost me $16.35. The tickets have already been emailed to me and downloaded to my computer, so I will send them along to whoever gets them. If anyone is interested in these let me know soon at shyatt3@yahoo.com.

Heading to Atlanta tomorrow and will probably be there in the early afternoon. What do any of you locals recommend I do around town?
Also, I checked the hotels in the area and they're a bit $$$. Do you guys know of any places not necessarily downtown but not too far from it that won't cost me $120 a night? |

To do in ATL:
Little Five Points right outside downtown is amazing. A lot of great shops. Kennesaw/Marietta would be a good place to check for hotels. About 20 mins from the Tabernacle, and a little cheaper. |

I live in Marietta, which is about 15 minutes from the Tabernacle. There is a super 8 down the street for $35 a night

Just got back. Needless to say, the show was EXCELLENT. After coming back in for an encore, he played Older Chests and then Blower's Daughter. Then, he put up his guitar, the band left, and one of the crewmen came out dressed up like a waiter, had a bottle of wine, gave damo a glass, poured him some wine, and damo started smoking a cigarette. The music for Cheers Darlin' started playing in the background, and Damien sang the song whilst drinking and smoking. At the end, he stumbled off stage as if drunk out of his wits.
The show was brilliant, simply put.

Went to the Tabernacle show last night. I really really enjoyed it. First of all Damo's stage presence was as strong as ever and I did not miss Lisa or Vyv (sadly) at all. I feel like Damo is being much more creative with them gone and the 3 guys are really meshing well together and are willing to try some new stuff. I also like Tomo on vocals, he seems to be on more backup vocals than when Lisa was around (to be expected).
Highlight of the night for me was the Coconut Skins ----> Percussion Jam ------>Woman Like A Man. This had the whole place moving, and it's during moments like this when I wish the show was general admission so people were standing. I miss the old days. Dogs was really good, Then Go was excellent, probably my second highlight. I was hoping for Prague or Sand, but didn't get it, but was very happy with the setlist. My only minor gripe would be rootless tree on piano. It is just so much better on guitar, I don't understand why he insists playing it on piano. Damien was very jovial with tonight and the crowd was VERY respectful and good. Overall a very very good show.

i must say though, i missed the presence of vyvienne much more than lisa. The cello to me is just irreplaceable. And after seeing joel in edinburgh, you realise he is a big part as well.

The 'unplugged' show was great. I did enjoy it despite the absence of certain elements on stage. To me, personally, the show was definitely lacking due to the absence of Lisa and Vyv. Or at least replacements on stage. A lot of these songs truly come to life when they have that swelling cello crescendo and complimenting female vocals... anyway, I'm getting carried away. I finally got my chance to see Damien live I hope he comes further south on the next North American tour!!
I'll post a few pictures whenever I upload them. |

I have two videos (Me, My Yoke and I & Cheers Darlin') that I'll post on YouTube sometime this weekend. Did anyone else wait by the buses for Damien? I stayed 'til about 12:20 but then we had to leave :[ |

Ah, the percussion break after coconut skins was so good. We all started clapping (I was hoping he'd maybe go into "Be My Husband" Jeff Buckley style), and then he went into Woman Like a Man... SO good haha

It was such an amazing show. This was only my second time seeing him and always leave me in chills. My favorites were Then Go, Woman Like a Man, Coconut Skins, and Rootless Tree. I was lucky enough to sit front row at the show (Thanks to Steven!) and had the best time with my sister. I absoultely cannot wait til Sept. to roll around. I'll definitely be seeing a few shows.
