^Nerina Pallot is amazing!! especially her piano ballads, very Tori-esque... and I do think that she looks physically a bit like Lisa

check Idaho, her most beautiful song and one of my fav songs ever

That version of Safe Travels was excellent. It really seemed like she gave her voice more freedom than usual. Loved it.

I think it was an amazing performance altogether, and I really like her solo without the band and her performance at Sundance was spectacular too thought I pasted the YT link but not sure where

she was in 3FM radio this morning
Interview / What'll I Do / Somebody That I Used To Know cover

videos here: http://www.3fm.nl/nieuws/detail/3521...nigan-bij-Giel

She was quite unconfortable when the host asked her if she knows if Damien heard her album...

You know, it was funny enough that I laughed more than thought he was an ass. She handles it so well now, it becomes more funny then awkward to me.

Knots is SO MUCH BETTER when performed live.

Here's a performance from a rooftop in NYC:

Quote:
With the weather unseasonably warm in NYC, Lisa Hannigan recently performed on the Relix roof, offering this song from her latest release, Passenger.

^Indeed. I'm actually beginning to like the album now that more and more live versions of songs are available. I'm realising that they are not bore-fest songs after all.

a dutch friend just informed me she's going to play a live session on That's Live this Saturday, at 6 pm (Central European time). http://sites.bnn.nl/page/thatslive

Go to http://www.3fm.nl/ Click "Listen" on the top of the page, then go to "3FM Live(BNN)" on Saturday

I will try to record it

^ Yup, still love this song

Love it best with the violin, though this version is missing Gavin's energy on the piano

Interesting article from today:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012...ack-of-my-life

Some of the stuff she's said before in interviews, but the story about Glen Hansard is awesome!

^yes!!!!! She's really made the songs 'alive'

loved the piece in the Guardian, incredible!!!! this part almost made me teary eyed

THE SONG THAT REMINDS ME OF DAMIEN RICE

"Couldn't Love You More" by John Martyn (1977)

When I started working with Damien Rice we used to do loads of touring and spent a lot of time on trains. It was such a wonderful period of excitement and discovery. I remember sitting on a train with him and this beautiful song came on his MiniDisc player. There's about a minute of introduction, then John Martyn comes in with, "If you kissed the sun right out of the sky for me…/ I couldn't love you more". It was just that raucous voice, powerful and visceral, and it's so shocking because your ear is attuned to the dreamy guitar intro. We were on a four-hour journey and I remember listening to it over and over again, until we got there. The two of us with one ear each. It reminds me of being really young and inspired by possibilities.
