Well you're not really getting that much if you're recording a gig unless you have a directional mic, which would usually be small and would just clip onto the neck of your jumper or something. If you're bringing something small with you then i'd suggest some kind of simple but instantly explainable disguise. If it's not a small mic then i'd suggest buying a small mic.

wear a pair of hiking socks...really thick ones coz they go half way up your calf and have a lot of elastic support and stuff...that way the mic would stay in the sock, be easy to retrieve, and wouldn't be noticeable at all!
...and if this works i'd like a copy of the gig please...hehehe

Don't bother recording the radiohead gig, loads of people have been recording those. After the shows happen it usually starts that poor quality recordings circulate first but after a week or two you'll be able to find audience recordings from experienced bootleggers at atease.com
If you just want to hear the new songs then check out here it's a show with a fair few of the new songs. Thom did mention that they'd be playing stuff in the states that they hadn't played in europe though. Those will be bootlegged and circulated in time though Trust me, it's not worth the hassle.

Also, doesn't Damien not have any taping rules? I thought he allowed taping of his shows. If he doesn't allow it to be taped then and there, I would say respect that and don't do it. People get mad when people passx around released music, I think that we shouldn't endorse illegal taping either. I'm not trying to knock you or anything, I am just saying if it's not allowed, respect it. |

second, bootlegs are a good thing especially in the future when we'll have recordings from today that are rare. |

Generally people who disallow taping of shows feel that they have a good reason for it, whether it be pressure from a record label, venue rules, fear that the recordings will be sold or that people will begin to take the distribution of music into their own hands. Generally speaking though we'll all be able to judge the situation on our own terms, whether or not taping is legally or morally correct, people will still do it despite the artists wishes if necessary. There will always be that guy who sells something he downloaded for a few hunred quid, conversely there will always be someone who copies and posts a few hundred cd's a year simply for the love of it.
Regardless of what people individually think it's probably naive to expect that we'll all kowtow to a non-trading policy. It just doesn't work anymore...

http://www.radioheadfeed.com/feature...song_links.htm In general I'd avoid AtEase for concert recordings... best bet is to go to the Radiohead Hub. |
