I'm online, but I'm watching the gig and not so much commenting.
Damien is one of my writer role models, it's amazing to see him sing.

^^ Yeah Sara Blasko up now... I'll stay around for a song or two but don't think I'll hear all of her gig

I think Norwegians had their overdose of "Hallelujah" seeing as four Norwegian artists (Kurt Nilsen, Espen Lind, Alejandro Fuentes and Askil Holm) got together and went on tour, and "Hallelujah" was one of the songs they played. I think the person who wrote the comment just thought that it was a bad choice because he's already heard it a couple of times. but I guess Norwegians don't really know that Damien has been singing "Hallelujah" for way longer than those guys. I thought it was a beautiful way to end.

^^ Cool!

Sarah Blasko is a lot better than I'd expected. A bit Sarah Slean'ish. Cool band.

OMG, Josh Rouse turned into a very old man in a very few years! SNOOOZEFEST! I'd thought I'd enjoy his set more than Blasko's... Nope!

I missed it. Is there a way to go back and watch it on the website, or do I have to wait for youtube?

rachlanee, they will put up an archive of this year's festival, but I don't know when that will be. I think Glo got a recording of it, so it's likely available on youtube soon.

I'm uploading the full thing right now but megaupload is superslow, it's been 1 hour since I started uploading but it's still 32%... I can wait another hour or so, but then I'll have to stop and start uploading it again tomorrow...

EDIT: i´ve just read your posts. thanks in advance for uploading it, glo. i want to see his new haircut
it sounds like it was a good gig, but i wonder why he didn´t sing nothing new. is the keeping it safe or is there something else? i have my thoughts but they are too senseless to share them

Thank you. I wish I was there. It's well over 100 degrees here, too hot to even go to the pool, so I hope I can watch it soon! What was the time? I'm trying to see if I can go back and watch it on the website.

I'm going to post links as I've not yet figured out the video embedding format here.

"9 Crimes" (with Maria Mena) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPMrnMYlTew

"Cannonball" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9QSXUyw9-4

"Volcano" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhFI2bELF3Q

after a couple of more times of listening through the "9 Crimes" duet I think it sounds quite good for an improvised one. I admit that I admire both of the artists and I had been wondering if they were going to do a duet (wishful thinking!). still I think there are other voices that fit better with Damien's, like Ingrid Olava's. Ingrid Olava did a duet with Damien, "Cold Water" at Traena in 2008.
