Default Vinyl version -My Faded Fantasy

Just picked up the vinyl.

Double vinyl, set at 45rpm speed, rather then the standard 33rpm.

Beautiful gatefold sleeve, with all track lyrics across the centre spread.

Each vinyl sleeve is also accompanied by a separate light cardboard album sized sheet, with images from the illustrators, they have been out there already.
The vinyl sleeves have the credits and thank yous.

Lovely package, a lot of thought went into this.

It's officially out tomorrow here in Ireland, but if you get to know your local record shop, they will look after you ! You won't be disappointed, great set.

I'm not particularly into vinyl - what is the exact difference between 45 or 33 rpm? Does it change something regarding the quality/sound?

I'm a vinyl collector so this is great news for me. 45rpm on a 12" vinyl means we will get the best sound possible for the record. Faster speeds equal higher resolution audio. Only downside on vinyl is you have to keep flipping sides but its a small price to pay. Thanks for sharing the photos! Bring on the 11th and the post carrier with my deluxe edition.

I'm getting greedy now but I hope Damien releases O, 9 and Live from the Union Chapel in the same form soon. I need more DR vinyl in my life.

So the disadvantage of 45 rpm is flipping the vinyl, the advantage is a better quality sound? That sounds good to me! Or do you need flipping for 33 rpm as well? Just wondering while Shillelagh posted above to be bummed that it's 45... :P

I received an e-mail about my deluxe edition, it should be delivered some time tomorrow already! Can't wait to hold it! And then go to my parents' place in the upcoming weekend so I can actually listen to the vinyl, since I don't have a device to play it myself, but they do

There is only 2 songs per side at 45rpm (4 flips) where as 33 rpm you would have 4 songs before you flip the record (2 flips). Its just a little annoying when you want to hear the record all the way through. If you want the best quality sound you have to live with it.

Not sure why Shillelagh said that, either they knew this already or maybe they think the record is a bunch of 7" vinyls (also called 45's.) That would be annoying.

My vinyl is spinning as I speak. The sound is amazing, even on my old as the hills turn table!
And oh the sweet feeling of listening to Damien's music on vinyl...

Give Colour me in a listen at 33 rpms if you want to hear an old blues singer cover it.

Ours was too!

Except we totally forgot that we don't have a record player / have a cruddy one that needs speakers hooked up that we haven't figured out yet...LOL.

Guess I'll report back on the sound once I find something to play it on.

Check out craigslist free stuff. There are a bunch of tables, speakers and receivers people are trying to get rid of.

and pianos if you have a truck to haul it.
