That does make perfect sense I do see your point, very good analyzing, Dan Here's to hoping Galway is amazing without interruption, cheers...

The DC show I went to, while quiet at times (and also sold out) was chock full of annoying ass people screaming requests and other things while damien was talking, playing solo, etc. I wouldn't give his American fans that much credit. |

Fantastic idea Dan, and definetly not too nostalgic - maybe thats what Damien will revert to doing. He loves to do a bit of talking, and get a (bit of) reaction from the crowd, but just couldn't do that on Monday night because of everyone shouting at him (though I did beg him to do Sand at one stage). Vicar Street in December was amazing, and I think mainly cos it was his homecoming gig and his first real gig in Ireland in 2003. The (almost) 3 hours of Damo was amazing. I think Galway may be a fantastic gig.

I don't think Damo was too pissed off about the monday gig, granted some ppl were being stupid, he was looking for a reaction from the crowd, he even said at the start of the gig how we were being too quiet(soz on the mon nite gig)!!Although that's prob what started everyone. Either way I think the gig was great, everyone should chill out and stop put so much pressure on Damien to be some kind of god cos he's just an ordinary guy. Big hug to everyone out there who's feeling crankyand be happy that ye were able to see him unlike the poor other fans that didn't get tickets

I had a brilliant night on tuesday night, but some people took the piss, shouting stupid stuff eg"I love you lisa!!" while she was singin. And i don't know what the story was with that hen party in the corny, it sounded like they were all standing round a bubbling cauldron, cackling away. Still an amazing night though, and i just wanna say thanks again to #ian# for getting me a ticket------and thanks to all the other eskimos i was talking to for a great night. Cheers!

Tomo seems to wear that shirt a lot. I want one, too, but it has to be a girly-fit tee. I've grown out of wearing huge, ill-fitting t-shirts. I saw this great T in New Orleans that had a picture of a woman's "bush" and below it said GOOD BUSH. Next to it was a picture of GW Bush, and below that picture it said BAD BUSH. I'm not sure I could get away with wearing that shirt, but I'm sure Tomo could

Thanx to all who helped me out re: "Eve, Apple of My Eye" u c I want to play it @ an accousticgig on Friday. As regarding the hecklers, I'll jus say this- I'm a struggling student, hav to pay my own way through college survivin on a scabby grant and my job wages to live. So I really did have to beg steal and borrow money to see the man. Also, Damien has written and produced one of the best albums I've ever heard- the man deserves silence(if he wishses to hav it) wen he sings. I've no prob wit people singin along, (hell I was givin it socks to WomanLike a Man and Professor) butscumbags in Ben Sherman shirts shoutin "Ricer I'm pregnant" really must makeDamien wonder why he bothers! Wish me luck re: the gig on Friday. If anyone has a good name for a band post it up here if u can!

Serpico, its a Pacino film.
Or Frank Serpentor, its really geeky, it references the above film and GI Joe. You can't have the former soviet republic though, thats mine.

Is that just after she came back onstage at one point? I thought she was giving someone a cup of tea and thought "how strange" to myself.

yeah, if the room was filled with feminazi's, damien might gotten a little more then applause thrown his way, in any case, it was really nice of her, she even blew it out to protect herself against legal action should i have lit a heckler on fire. Her telecaster was quite cool, she plays it on the MPEG video on the Volcano single, i'd never seen her play guitar before... imagine if they booted damien out of the band for having too much control over the candles...
He might have paid for those candles himself though, which would make it far more acceptable that she had to ask.

hmmm 'CD Laser Lens Cleaner' has already been used, how about 'New Car Smell'? Or you could just do what R.E.M. did and browse through a dictionary until you find some suitably non-descript word/abbreviation. |
