great show, Damien in good mood, chatty, talking his days in Italy, trying to talk in Italian but kinda doing it in Spanish ugly venue (why seated!!!!) in a very beautiful setting...
lots of requests being played (Insane, Rat within the grain, Colour me in, Rootless tree)... Damien very energetic, very rock God, very rocky versions of Insane and Rootless Tree, much less acoustic and much more rock'n'roll than recently...
very weird version of Volcano with Gyda, which we all kinda agree if didn't work

aftershow happened after a couple of hours waiting, at like 1h30am, lots of people still there, like 200 maybe? was good but not the best, not ideal cos there were too many people, also a bit noise with trucks uploading gear etc, also security guys surrounding him like if he was Madonna in the beginning during Eskimo, then suddenly left......
first bit was weird especially the request... like massive request from lots of people for I Don't Wanna Change You (really people??) but even more bizarre, a guy requesting again Delicate which had already been played during the main set, come on people that was a waste of a request...
much better 2nd half with Bastard, beautifully done, and then The Box, also great, he did the dividing the audience thing like in Volcano but made us sing different things... the ending with Cold Water with a girl from xfactor italy (I believe) and Hallelujah was also great...

ahah, those "rock god" versions!

I enjoyed the gig, although not the best I've seen. Something was a bit off, not sure if it was the audience or maybe the venue (we were very far from the stage) - anyway Damien's mood was great, he was very chatty and told some stories, and then he interacted a lot with the audience.
He played Rat and Insane out of requests, then we were all asking for rare songs like Mustard Seeds and Stoic and he said something like "I have a feeling there are 5 or 6 people that know all the strange songs, and they all seated in different areas of the venues just to disguise me". Anyway with one of those "real rare songs" it would have been a great setlist.

I'm very tired of Delicate, TBD and Cannonball, by the way. At the point that I really get bored during them. I think he should maybe switch things around, trying not to play them too often now, or maybe try a piano version from time to time? Would love to hear Delicate on piano, or TBD on electric guitar.

It takes a lot was the highlight of the night for me, along with Insane of course.

I didn't stay for the aftershow and I also had to run away after the gig. I lost Marti, Verena and everyone else and didn't even say goodbye, sorry guys!
But I'm you got to enjoy the aftershow.

By the way - I did love the Volcano version, very different from every other version he ever did. A bit closer to Long Long Way, somehow.
It needs to be practised but overall a good version. Not sure about Gyda's voice anyway, it was too low and didn't really fit with Damien's.

Marti - do we have a video of Volcano, anyway?

I stopped recording cos this guy behind me was singing (very loud and badly) so kinda ruined it... he stopped singing after I turned and gave him the evil eye but the recording was ruined already so I stopped... but I thought you didn't like Volcano?
For me it was ok-ish, I liked that it was kinda sigur ros-esque but agree their voices didn't work together...

but for me one of the best shows I've seen, but maybe it's cos he played Insane and it was a rockier than ever version of Insane, so different from the versions he's done the last 5-6 years... but besides Insane I also really liked all the rockier versions of Rootless Tree, I Remember, 9 Crimes, but also the softer ones like Colour Me In or Amie...

My problem was her singing, not the whole thing. I think she also did great on cello, plus I loved the harmonium. Overall a good version I'd say

thank you carole for the photos and claude for posting them

i don´t think i could add much more, plus it seems it was ages ago (damn rutine!).

i agree with marti on the venue. beautiful place under the starts... the chairs, a massive shame! even though the set list is pretty much the usual, the intensity is all new and not being able to be free to express it was a bit frustrated for me.

i loved the "rarities", especially insane... but i blame the bloody dog for interrupting him when he was a about to take off... and all of us along with damien :/

i did like volcano, the cello and gyda´s voice, tbh. also, the harmonioum. what i didn´t like much at the very end was the italians behavious (no offense). i know they are all passion and bla bla bla (i´m latin american plus we got all the influence from italians in argentina, so i know it very well) but i felt that the rapture of showing off their appreciation kept them away from really appreciating what was really going on there. i had the same feeling about the after show. i was delighted for him to come out again and play (beautiful versions of the box and the greatest bastard), but as marti said it feel weird nonetheless.

marti, my hero! thanks for taking care of everything and for the videos as always.

it was a real pleasure to have seen you all again, my dear eskimo friends. i hope we can meet up again sooner than later

eva, thanks for sharing the full concert video
