In my book tango is sexier than samba for sure. More subtle like.

Random note, but back when Once was first screened in Toronto, Glen stuck around after the movie/Q&A to play a little acoustic set for us. He called up a local musician from the audience named Peter Katz (though I don't remember how they met) and got Peter to sing a song for us (Glen harmonized). Then when Peter recorded his 2nd CD, he asked Glen to duet again in a more official and he agreed!

The CD's out now (iTunes worldwide, in stores in Canada) and I thought I'd spread it around. The song's called the First of the Last to Know and it's up on Peter's myspace: http://www.myspace.com/peterkatz

Here's a short clip (with a bit of Glen's verse at the end)

I also thought the Swellies days were numbered, and that Glen would go back to The Frames from September (EP) on...

but since I'm not a big big Frames fan myself, I'm happy they keep it going Got tix for London there's front row tix if you go to the Festival Hall site!!

I don't know if this has been posted, but I hadn't seen it before sooo here it is.

Glen's interview with OneMoreTune... its quite interesting and he talks about busking with Kila (!!), Damien Dempsy, the Bellies, Mundy... Whelans in the 90's sounds like so much fun...

I was on the Myspace page of The Swell Season, and one of their listed friend was "Swell Season of Hip-Hop". http://www.myspace.com/theswellseasons

LOL... Hip Hop remixes like "Say it Now DraMatik", "Falling Slowly DraMatiK" and some originals like "How the season Swell'"??

butchered, just like anything else AI touches I remember that girl from the auditions (I watch the auditions because it's hilarious, the most ridiculous people go there lol) and she was quite talented, very blues-y and soul, totally not AI scene. anyway...

*******
btw, did anyone manage to the live version of Low Rising? http://theswellseason.cashmusic.org/

I tweeted that thing but it didn't unlock I've been teased by cash music

Dayum that's a bad cover! I really don't like duets that go 2 word girl-2 words boy- 2 word girl - 2 words boy etc etc.... Though the guy alone might have done a better job...

A Swellies cover of Young Hearts Run Free is up for grabs here

Personally I find it overproduced (Really, Glen, singing your own backing vocals?) and in every way inferior to the Frames live version that's out there.

Yeah I agree, its kind of meh. Though in all fairness, nothing can be compared to HCTN.
