I know Donsie already started a thread about The Frames gig at Marlay Park on August 21st, but I'm lazy and I can't remember the topic title.. Anywhooo.. I just ordered my tix, so it looks like I'll be going to Ireland for the first time!Anyone else going? I'm trying to figure out how to get to Marlay Park but no luck so far. Anyone? And we're prolly staying in Dublin for a few days so I need to know where to go out and what to see... Tips anyone? Thanks!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! A nice hostel is Kinlay House, I satyed there and it was cool. As for things to see in Dublin... I can't tell you, I wasted my time there, did things I realise now were far less interesting than visiting the city

Hmm.. a hostel may not be private enough for usI think I prefer a hotel or bed & breakfast...

marlay park is a good bit away from the city centre... only about a 5-10 min drive from my house.. id probably say ur safest bet is getting a taxi or getting a bus to nutgrove shopping centre which is quite close to it and walking...

dublin taxi's vary but id say no more than 20 euro maximum maybe cheaper for daytime rates... also being daytime there may be a f**k load of traffic going up there... it would take about 30 mins in car from city centre id say... but you never know with dublin traffic they may hire buses to go from the city centre as they did with REM but here's the buses that will leave you nearby the park Directions Buses: 14 and 14A from D'Olier St, 48A from Hawkins Street and 16 and 16C all the buses there leave from city centre |

Hmm...I should really know more about Dublin seeing as I've lived there for a year I'll go the cultural way and tell you to get a lovely lunch in O'Brien's the Sunday after the gig and relax in St.Stephen's Green or go to the zoo in the Phoenix Park And check out Templebar too Someone else may advise you on the nightlife, there's plenty of pubs and clubs but I haven't been to enough to say which ones are the best |

The best bus to get from town would be a 16. Don't get a 16A coz you'll have a fair ole walk if you do. I live in rathfarnham so it's only a stroll up the road with a few cans for me! and for anyone who's broke and can't afford to go, there is a pub called the eden with a big beer gardenand you can pretty much hear everything from there!

another easy way of getting to marlay park is going to ballinteer (14, 14A or 48 A bus) and walking it from there ...itll be a case of follow the crowds so itll be easy to find...its no distance from there.
