I mean I know it's his homeland and all, but taking the top spot from Taylor Swift is freaking impressive. That girl is a machine.

At least in three countries MFFF reached the Top 10!
My favourite faded fantasy:
Ireland #1 (see borneoman's post above) The Netherlands Album Charts Top 100: #2 08.11.2014 Belgium Vlandern Album Charts #4 08.11.2014 Belgium Wallonie Album Charts #15 08.11.2014 Germany Album Top 100 #36 or #38 (I don't remember exactly, sorry, I'm a mathematician ;-) I don't want to change you: The Netherlands Singles Top 100 #92 18/10/2014 #99 25/10/2014 #61 01/11/2014 #53 08/11/2014 Germany Airplay Charts: #137 (week 42) #123 (week 43) #115 (week 44) (the song has been played 43 times in week 44) #110 (week 45) (the song has been played 47 times in week 45) (by the way: each time D.R. gets played on radio in Germany, he'll (or the company) will earn about 15 Euro) Sources: Dutch and Belgium: http://dutchcharts.nl/showitem.asp?i...+Fantasy&cat=a Germany: I've only seen the printed chart at my local record dealer, the source will be added later. In Germany and Belgium, MFFF did much better than O or 9 (Germany: peak #76 and #87) (Netherlands: 9 was #20, O did not chart) Interesting: The Netherlands has to versions of the song I don't want to change you: The radio edit (3:26) and the album version (5:29) http://dutchcharts.nl/showitem.asp?i...ange+You&cat=s |

Music Week have a little piece on Damien today, about his sales in the Uk
Damien Rice is the fourth Irish act to have a Top 10 album in eight weeks, with his third album My Favourite Faded Fantasy debuting at number seven (14,046 sales) hot on the heels of The Script, who topped the chart with No Sound Without Silence; Hozier, whose eponymous debut album reached number five; and U2, whose Songs Of Innocence reached number two. It is exactly eight years to the week since Rice's second album, 9, debuted and peaked at number four on sales of 57,742 copies. Rice's debut album 0 peaked at number eight in 2004, exactly two years after it was released, attracting first week sales of just 145. With the song Cannonball emerging as a perennial favourite, O has gone on to sell 1,237,734 copies, while 9 has sold a more modest 324,907 copies. Second week: 26 Damien Rice 5,380 sales

- debuts at #10 in Italy
- debuts at #38 in Denmark - debuts at #22 in Norway - debuts at #19 in Austria - debuts at #26 in Spain - debuts at #5 in Switzerland, guess those festivals (Blueballs, Winterthur) helped - in week 2: drop from 1 to 8 in Ireland, holds at 4 in Belgium, drops from 2 to 15 in the Netherlands

#15 in the US would be amazing for him! I don't see how it would be possible, but I will hope for the best!

That's fukking awesome!! Wow, I did not expect him to rise in the charts the subsequent week! I hope this keeps up for the holidays. That's so fantastic. How great would it be if he got nominated for a Grammy? Of course, we'll have to wait an entire year to find out if he is cause he missed the eligibility period for 2014.
