Hey, new to the board and a new(ish) fan of Damien. I've got the album version obviously, so I've heard that version, I've also heard a single version which has drums etc in it, but the other morning (Thursday 27th May 2004 to be precice) I was at work listening to the radio and Jo Whiley played a version of the song I'd not heard before, it was similar to the single version, with drums etc, but was a bit faster and (I suppose) edited to make it shorter. It also had some nice strings added to it.

So...Is this another new version, or just a version I've not heard. If you wanna hear it I guess you could go to Jo Whiley's page at bbc.co.uk/radio1 etc and listen again, it sounds like the best ever version to me but you got understand I was at work so was trying to listen hehe.

EDIT: Found more info, it IS a new single, to be released July 5th and you can hear it here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/djs/colinandedith/with a specific link to the track here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/media/g2...amienrice/cann onball_full.ram

Am I the only person who didnt know this lol!Edited by: Jebus

hiya and welcom indeed!!!!

thankyou for the info bout cannonball (love that song)

theres been some dispute over the many many many differnt versions of that song on here for ages... i know he's done a "pop" version of it (but only to shut the record company up) and has since regretted giving in to them.. but iv never heard one with strings in it (you sure its not vyv)

Nah, listening to it now, it sounds SO upbeat and really joyous, its very different, even the "single" version which had drums sounded, well, not "down" but not like this, this is incredibly upbeat!

Check out the link I gave in my edited post above, its Colin & Edith's record of the week, and Jo Whiley is playing it also, Damien is really being shouted about at Radio 1 right now!!

I think this is my favourite version of it so far to be honest, but they are all amazing songs But it really does seem like procrastination, just make a new album damn it :P
