Prague Cover.
I finished tweaking up my cover of Prague this morning, i hope it's ok. There might be my 1st take of a 9 Crimes cover (it's a bit rough) on there too, i can't remember. If it isn't there, i'll put it up soon. But there's one of my own songs there too if you're interested.

I see what you're going for... it suffers in just being restricted to guitar though, having one tone over itself three or four times doesn't give the sound a wide range.

I know what you mean, but i didn't want to stray too far from the original in terms of guitar tone, because i wanted to retain the feeling of it. Unfortunately, my acoustic hasn't arrived yet, i would have recorded it acoustically. With what i had to work with, i tried my best to simulate an acoustic sound using my les paul.
Anyway, that's a good point, i might try putting a phasing effect on the guitar in the interlude or something. Cheers. |

nice job on the distorted vocals...could i have a mp3 copy of this song?
i like this cover because you don't take too many liberties... but i don't think that the second crescendo (beginning at about 3:06) is dramatic enough...in damien's version it builds to a cinematic intensity...like an orgasm of sound, and some other stuff thrown in there too! the "i could wait for you..." part needs more emotional intensity! stop bemoaning having a les paul...

Cheers! Yeah, just give me an email address to send to; if i remember rightly, it won't allow me to attach mp3s here.
Some good advice there, thanks, i'll do more experimenting. =P It's hard to do emotional intensity when you have to sing that low! I tried singing it higher, put i couldn't get any power behind it; i'll keep trying. Nah, i love my les paul to bits, it's just trying to get the right acousticy sound. Ta, for your input. *Sterile five* |
