would you have liked a rockier debut than O?
we all love O and it´s an amazing album but was thinking that in a way it´s a pity we never got an album with his rockier/more juvenile songs, you know, mostly the Juniper songs (Insane, Face, etc)
so was wondering if we all would have liked it so much, if his debut album had been a heavier album, imagine for insane a tracklist like: Tongue Volcano Insane The Professor Face Then Go Amie Woman like a Man Me, My Yoke & I I Remember Eskimo maybe I would´t have liked it as much as O, but I think it would have shown this juvenile side of Damien, that we have kinda skipped what do you guys think?

O is my fave album. 9 was hit and miss for me, whereas MFFF got him back on track. I would have loved the professor and woman like a man to be on O but wouldn't have liked the album to be rockier

I love all those songs, but as they are, in their rough demo/live state.
I have no need to hear them in a polished studio version. |

O is perfect... I can't just imagine another debut album that would get me as much as O did.
Anyway, I totally agree with caroline - I think some songs are better outside any real structured album. I loved Tongue back in the day but can't imagine a studio version of it. The same with Insane, or Face. I love when he does them live and I'd love a "live album" with some great version of those songs... but not in a proper studio album. I know O is perfect
But still I wouldnt have minded a more raw/teenagerish debut And then O as a more polished mature second album

I do think that this is a cool idea, but I adore O as is and wouldn't prefer the rockier side as my introduction to Damo. Something about O really grabbed me and was an "AHA!" moment within my own music and music listening. It kind of shook me awake. BUT, maybe a rocky EP could have been cool?
Does anyone know if there were any extra cuts or considered songs for O? |

Think The Professor was supposed to be on the album but was kicked out by Cannonball last minute
9 crimes, Fool and Grey Room are post-Juniper pre-O so could have potentially been in O Guess any of the Juniper songs mentioned above too

I love O as is and I like 9 as the sophomore slump. MFFF is a nice transition for a new harder album and new frame of mind.
I just can't imagine what he would write about in the new album and am excited to listen. He can definitely put Insane and the like on it because they are great unreleased songs, but I'm hoping he wrote new stuff to show his evolution in thought and personal development. Uh...all these reimaginings leave out the blowers daughter. I get that we've all heard it a thousand times, but come on...
