Question mini i-pod

Well im not the best at computers/technical stuff, so forgive me for any stupidity!
Basically im thinking of buying a mini ipod and just wanted to know if anybody had any advice about it, any bad things i should know eg. crap battery life and such like things!
also does i-tunes work with microsoft ME edition?
and if not, theres no point in getting ipod as i wont be able to load music onto it..correct?!?

Any other suggestions of good mp3players for under 250euro?
thanks!

oooh, zen micro = ugly.
I also have been looking at getting an i-pod mini, they are lovely. I read that they improved the battery life. Here in holland they cost 180 euro in the stores.
But, the i-river hd10 has a color screen, 1 gig more (compared to the 4gig mini) and the ability to record (good for gigs!!)

no no no, get an iaudio 5, it's very small but that little thing is awsome. you don't need to install any software, just plug it and copy paste, also the sound is amazing, did i say that little thing is tiny. oh and it also reads ogg vorbis which is similar to mp3's but the ogg files are smaller and sound better than mp3's. i've ripped many of my cds on ogg and love it, and you can use many free softwares to rip your cds, but you get a software with the unit. you can also record from its mic or fm radio (included) or line-in

http://www.iaudiophile.net/content.php?review.18

http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/5/

at amazon you can get a 1G iaudio5 for £149.99 which is about 220 euros and they deliver to ireland

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...715706-0015007

or for more money you can get an 20 or even 40g iaudio m3. i have both the iaudio 5 and the m3 and i love them. the only downside is the iaudio products don't read protected wma's, but i don't buy mp3's from itunes so i don't care about that. the iaudio u2 looks pretty good too

ps i don't work for iaudio

That's what I got. Though it is no longer manufactured and was pulled off the shelves in the US at Christmas.

Anyway, it records to *.wav (the new iRiver only records to MP3) and has an optical line-in and lin-out. It supports *.wav, *.mp3, *.ogg and *.wma, has a great radio and the sound, like all iRiver products, is fantastic. Drag and drop support under XP.
