Joseph Arthur UK & Ireland in October
Joseph is currently my favorite singer/songwriter/alt-rocker and he's going to do a proper UK tour in October, following his recent "warm-up" tour in England. But the main reason I'm posting this here is that there also be three Irish dates!!!
He's an amazing live artist and I urge you all to go. His live act is quite different from the albums, in case you know any of those and I've lured many people recently into seeing him live and they were without exception blown away. Doesn't mean *everybody* will love it, of course, but the chances are obviously very high. Thye last time he was in Ireland (three years ago, I think?) he asked Damien to open for him, which he did. (Those were the days!) October: 03/10/05 Manchester, Hop & Grap 04/10/05 Cardiff, Ifor Bach 05/10/05 London, Scala 07/10/05 Sheffield, Corporation 08/10/05 Glasgow, King Tuts 09/10/05 Leeds, The Cockpit 10/10/05 Liverpool, Carling Academy 11/10/05 Edinburgh, Cabaret Voltaire 13/10/05 Derry, The Nerve Center 14/10/05 Dublin, Whelans 15/10/05 Cork, Cyprus 17/10/05 Bristol, Fleece 18/10/05 Portsmouth, Wedgewood Rooms 19/10/05 Nottingham, The Social 20/10/05 Northampton, UK Soundhaus

I was lucky enough to meet Joseph at his gig at the Georgian Theatre, Stockton. Which is one of the only voluntarily run venues based around here. I did a review of it for dripfed.co.uk

I did read your review back then! It was a good review. I found your stuff at LJ. I also saw the pictures you took (I think), which were excellent! I didn't know then that you were a fellow eskimo, though. Small world!

I didn't even know half the songs in his set but was completely enthralled.......he does a Rolf Harris thing too for those of you who would rather see someone paint than sing!! (no diggeredoo in evidence though) Last edited by rosey; 08-23-2005 at 09:44 PM. |

His latest album is called 'Our Shadows Will Remain'. If you click on the album cover in the right hand corner of Joseph's web site @ http://www.josepharthur.com/ you can hear three songs from it.
But the album is not representative of his live act. If you have DSL I can see if I have an audience video to upload, but it will have to wait until tomorrow or so.
