^ hehe as always kirsty

Just to let others know, im playing a gig in The Voodoo Lounge in dublin city centre on tuesday. late notice gig and im 2nd last on around 10pm

Then playing In Glendalough in Lynhams of Laragh on the 20th January. Cool country pub thats supposedly hopping on a saturday night, I'll be the only act performing from 10:30pm till closing, plus its the first paid gig ill be doing. earning more than what i make teaching in a week!

Got my full band nearly together now. Jammed with the bass player & other guitarist. Gonna be recording from the 26th -29th january so hopefully ill have something rough to get on myspace. Then my plan is to get some management and labels interested and try to release an EP independantly

Keep checking the Myspace for details

Simon

Cheers guys. Had to postpone my gig in glendalough tonight due to unfortunate events. Have a few more in the pipeline tho. also was asked to support James O'Toole in Eamon Dorans on the 8th.

oh and regards the EP. yes its still a work in progress but im hoping to release it late summer in september. i shouldnt commit to a date but i love that time of year so we'll see!

also our very own carl beevers helped in designing a front cover for the EP. Photograph was by the wonderfull John Powell who kindly gave me permission to use it

also heres a recording of the last Bewleys gig i played. sound quality isnt of the highest standard but thought id share to anyone who may be interested

Exclamation

So as some of you know i finally finished the EP and sat through several hours of mixing today.

I have samples of the songs up on myspace if anyone fancies a listen.

Simon Jewell

They are also up on last fm if anyone prefers that.. But they take longer to process there i think..

I now have the heavy task of duplication and artwork to finish off before i go about sending it off to people and releasing it independantly.

Money is the biggest issue with this, or the lack of i should say. Hopefully it will be worth it in the long run

This is so exciting, will listen as soon as I come home.
How are you going to release + distribute it - are you going to use any second party for that, or are you doing it 100% on your own?

ahhh, didnt realise this post upped and came in for a quick lurk!

Yeah supporting Aslan in Vicar street on the 27th December which is an absolute dream gig!!
Lots of new songs, barely any properly recorded (as usual), but i like the new direction of some. Hopefully get them properly recorded too, im just not mad about studios. Can send any rough computer demo's to anyone interested.

Hows the music coming yourself Cille? I saw a video you posted not so long ago and loved it.. Need to get a cd or mixtape off you sometime!

^^ cough cough me too reg. the demos!

I'm doing alright I guess, am in the process of (home) recording a debut album with contributions from friends so it's not just me and my lousy piano playing.. HOPEFULLY it will be done by winter, but the summer has been a bit low on recording activity...

yeah i lasted a whole day! went to the induction and the course had been changed from what they originally set out and got its esteem for.
it really lacked any depth and felt more like an xfactor audition than something i would benefit from. so the con's outweighed the pro's and at least i got my money back!

look forward to hearing what comes out of the recordings cille. procrastination is a killer but keep on, id love to hear that album!
