I'm going to the Dublin gig too. It's very close to being sold out.

What are the seat numbers? There's only upper circle seats left by now I think.

I think we're on the first balcony, restricted view

Meh no matter, at least we're going!

I've sat in restricted view in the Circle before, most likely in the same seats you have for Joanna... It's not as bad as you'd think, it's just a little awkward, but you can see everything if you sit on the edge of the seat, because it's beside the aisle. Put it this way; it would be far worse if you had really good seats in the second row, behind a guy with a massive afro.

It's sold out now, so restricted view tickets could be a far worse problem.

I was listening to the last word this week and they were slating Joanna (cloth-eared buffoons), mainly because of the voice and some clown texted in referring to her as "a poor man's Lisa Hannigan" and I really don't get that comparison at all aside from the fact that they're both very beautiful female musicians with long, brown hair.

that's the kinda person who doesn't really listen to music...what I love about Joanna is the originality of the music and the lyrics. The lyrics are brilliant!

I can't stand her either. I prefer good ol' Björk.

You're right, she's amazing; just the most astonishing lyricist.

That made me pretty angry, for any number of reasons... They're exactly the sort of people who'll be pretending to "get it" when Joanna Newsom is considered cool in dublin a year from now.

Hopefully the crowd at this one willbe quiet and appreciative, I was ready to kill the people at ATP last year who wouldn't shut the **** up.

I remember hearing Billy Corgan talking about the Pumpkins' early days in Chicago, and all the crowds were full of people who were just at the shows for the sake of being seen there, so the band figured that they'd play louder to drown out the talking, but then people shouted instead of talking... It ended up with the band becoming so loud that it was physically uncomfortable to listen to them.

There's your solution right there.

apparently she's been compared to the voice of Lisa Simpson..oh well...

i got her c.d. handed to me at school from a friend (y's)...just listened to it last night and i thought it was breathtaking.

couldnt believe Emily lasted over 12 minutes. what a masterpiece that would be to make...

i thought she was swing at times but i read from wikipedia she is psychadelic folk.

I've heard that if you even mention that to her fans they'll take your eye out.

YEah i think she's pretty slushing funk (that's good btw)! Her voice is how she wants to sing, so i can do nought but respect, however, when i got a headache i just think "aaah shattaaap" but then that goes for anything but ambient strings when i feel like that. She is an aquired taste tho.

Actually you can get Final Fantasy's cover of Peach, Plum, Pear from his label's official site, it's free too. If anyone hasn't heard it check it out here.

AMAZING! I love final fantasy! His cover of this modern love is pretty darn cool too!

His cover of An Actor's Revenge (Destroyer) is class too! I can't wait to see him live again.

I think the Book Of Right On is extremely good. I particularly like the way her songs seem to reference ancient mythologies, but are really her own mythologies. Intensely clever.
