Default looks like Ed Sheeran was a fan of Lisa too :)

Born in Halifax, Sheeran grew up in Suffolk, where he sang in a choir with his mother, a jewellery maker, from the age of four. It was his father, an art lecturer, who nurtured his son’s passion for music, taking him to gigs all over the country.
‘He was a cool dad,’ says Sheeran. ‘The first live gig I went to was Green Day at Wembley, though I thought seeing people like Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan was even cooler.’
When Ed was 11, they travelled together to Dublin to see Damien Rice.
‘Afterwards, we stuck around and Damien and his band came into the pub next door. I didn’t have much to say – I was too young – but it was inspiring seeing him on stage for two hours with just an acoustic guitar and his voice. Being able to command a crowd like that made me think, “Wow, it can be done.”
'That night when I got home, I wrote six songs, my first six songs.’
He recorded them onto a CD and sent them to Lisa Hannigan, the Irish singer-songwriter who was a member of Rice’s band at the time.
‘I wouldn’t want that CD to crop up now,’ smiles Sheeran. ‘I wrote loads of songs when I was young. They weren’t very good.’

it's just cos Lisa is more friendly than Damo. I remember that i read somewhere, Lisa used to represent Damo, say hi to fan

abt Ed, i don't really like him, he's too... mainstream

Cool find! It would be great to find out if Lisa actually knows about this or if she can remember it!

By all accounts, Damien was more than friendly to the 11-year old when they met. There's a lovely photo of the two of them together and Ed subsequently tattooed Damien's autograph from the night on his forearm. To say that he was inspired is an understatement; Ed regularly mentions that the sole reason he is an artist today is because of meeting his idol that night.

There's a very strong rumour that Ed's team is looking at the feasibility of playing Wembley stadium next Summer - it was always hoped that the 'X' tour would finish up that way - and if so, we could see a familiar face joining the bill!

i didn't say he's not, just less than Lisa. And honestly, i don't like "friendly Damo", i want "anti-social Damo", lol

That is a cute story. I can't help but like Ed. He's a bit pop, but he's a hard worker and a really nice guy.

Here's a video where he played it with Vyvienne on cello! It was in the o2 Dublin last year

And Croke Park too it seems. It will be very interesting to see if this develops. Wembley's not possible due to clashing schedules.
