Maeve Dunphy and band play Whelans Tuesday 18th Jan at 8.30 with very special guests Fiach and Shay Cotter. Admission only 10euro and there may be a surprise guest appearance from (well I can’t say who or it wouldn’t be much of a surprise). Now I’ve never heard of any of those but I have it on very good authority that it’s high quality stuff so if you’ve nothing better to do on Tuesday, I hope to see some of you there.

First of all, it’s not Damien (sorry about that) and secondly I’ve never met Maeve or any of the other acts (even the big one). I’m not just making it up either. I did say MIGHT play which is why I dunno if I can say who it is because it was his brother who told me – ok, a little clue; he’s one of the biggest singer/songwriters ‘Living’ in Ireland. Anyway, I thought that even the chance of that person playing for a tenner was good enough for me. If any of you want to go fair enough, if not or if you don’t believe me fair enough but don't knock me for posting it (that’s understandable since it was my first post).

Well, yeh it WAS supposed to be Casey but he didn’t. The rest of them weren’t great either. Maeve’s got a great voice and all but I don’t like that jazzy/bluesy kinda stuff. Shay Cotter was alright. I got talking to him afterwards and he’s really nice too. I also met one of the mavericks, lol.

Well, I got off to a GREAT start on the Damien Rice board.
