Tomo was literally jumping out of his seat in the last part of the jam. He was smiling from ear to ear, feeding off of Herbie. I didn't realize Tomo did vocals, too. He joined in backup on a song or two.

Shane kept smiling up at the sound guy. Seemed like there was an inside joke going on there.

Thanks Curious. I didn't catch what Lisa didn't want to bogart.

Lol, while I was waiting outside I actually overheard someone say that Herbie Hancock was going to do a guest appearance - I didn't say anything beforehand because I had no idea if it was true or not ( though I'm glad it was though - wow! ) Getting to see the entire show front "row" center didn't hurt either. Awe-inspiring performance - I don't know what else to say.

Hey...sorry for the crappy description...i should have directed you to my picture somewhere in the Other Topics forum. I was in front of the stage on the left side.

I had to keep my earplugs in most of the night because the crowd was so loud when they cheered! Especially this woman next to me...she was like a banshee!

You are absolutely positively CORRECT!!! I knew I knew that song, particularly that lyric, but I couldn't quite place it. It WAS an extremely slow version of it. Thanks so much for identifying it. It was really cool meeting you, Greg.

Curious picked up on a lot of the things I was going to mention. And as for celebrity sitings, Jennifer Love Hewitt was there, as were Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth, and of course Nic Harcourt, who brought out a bottle of red wine and some plastic cups during Cheers Darlin.

After the show, my friend and I were SO starving that we could not wait around, in the rain, to try to meet Damien, but I know jenn fox did - Jenn! Did he come out? Did you get to meet him? I talked to Tomo for a minute or two and asked him when the Children of Bam CD was going to come out. He said that they've been kind of busy lately, but they're working on it. I said that it seems like they've been working on the new album forever, and he said that sometimes they feel that it's been forever, too.

Oh Valerie...I have posted a very incoherent rant over on the other
Troubadour thread but basically no I didn't exactly get to meet him
after the show. We did wait in the pouring rain and with our
investigative skills in full throttle we found out that the security
guys were sending two taxis around to the back for "the band" so
we did go to that back alley. I waited on the corner and two
other fans came and were also hoping for autographs. When Damien
did come out one of the other girls ran over and I did see her
get him to sign something. I could have easily followed suit but
I didn't feel right keeping him out in the POURING rain so I did not go
over to him. Shortly after he jumped in the caravan and took
off. I know I may have totally blown it but I wouldn't have felt
right so I'm ok with it. Anyway earlier in the day when I was the
only person in front of the venue everyone came out including
Damien. I realize now I could have had a picture with and an
autograph from each one of them and herbie hancock ( I actually spent a
lot of time in a circle , inadvertently, with all of them
including the guy who is shooting the documentary) but I guess I just
never felt like there would be a time when I wasn't bothering
them. Even after Tomo told me that it was "no bother" I still
didn't ask him for a picture or autograph! Yes I know you would
all like for me to kneel now for my military style execution, but I
really just didn't feel right asking them for anything even though I
know they are very accomodating. Anyway when Damien came out
(when they were all gathered outside helping Herbie get his keyboard
out of his car) he looked right at me and smiled. The highlight
of my life. There's more to
tell but I don't want this post to be too long. It was nice
meeting all you eskimos too by the way. Oh yeah, I know for a
fact that the show was taped but I remember there being an issue about
the tape only being three hours and Damien played longer than that.

I totally understand - it's the same reason I never take pictures while they're playing even though I always have a camera in my bag or yell out song requests even though I know they could hear me if I did. I just don't feel right about it. Don't worry - I'm sure you'll get to meet him and talk to him next time. It was great meeting you. Maybe I'll see you at The Frames in March.

I'm almost positive that the Encore jam started off with an extemely slow version of Bob Dylan's "Just Like Tom Thum's Blues". As I was sitting there I knew the lyrics from somewhere, and I know for a fact that that portion ended with Lisa singing, "I'm going back to New Yor City, I do believe I've had enough". Then all the improvising started with the Herbie & Damien, as well as the "Haven't found what I'm looking for" and "Glory Box"

good lord...this is too much to bear. please pm me if anyone can send a recording of this show. to all that were there...congrats!

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. It seems the sound

was adding effects like wah pedal into the songs at just the right
spots where Damien and band would normally put them. And Damien
couldn't add the effects himself, because he didn't have any gear like
that on stage.
