Default Lisa in the Media

A replacement for the Lisa on the TV/ Radio thread but also for other various media outlets.

  • As I posted on the before the forum time travelled, there's a free CD with Hotpress in the current issue. Lille is track 2
  • Even Better than the Disco Thing, a covers CD of disco hits covered live on Ray D'Arcy's show on Today FM, is being released here on Friday 21st. It will feature Lisa's Upside Down cover

Default Ocean and a rock will be aired in Grey's Anatomy tonight

from lisa´s myspace:
(just read new blog)
Quote:
BIG NEWS part 2, tomorrow night, November 20th, in America, and I guess soon after in the rest of the world, Ocean and a Rock will be aired in Grey's Anatomy!!! Unreal. Again a huge amount of excitement here! We're all dying to see if we kill someone, bring someone back to life, or what we do to them. Maybe someone will leave because of us, we've just discussed it and none of us want to see any of the characters leave, so lets hope not. Either way, we'll be tucked up with a bottle of champagne on the bus to see what happens, and regardless of how it all works out, we'll be celebrating.

So this is definitely one week where I'll have to pick Grey's over The Office...

Pretty exciting news for her though! Grey's usually gives a huge bump to the artists they feature (they've sort-of featured Lisa before, yes? With 9 Crimes and Some Surprise?)

still no sign of track listing on the net. Bought it anyway, even Itunes didn't recognise the cd so here's my bit of typing done for the weekend;

Even Better Than The Disco Thing / Today FM/ 21 Nov 2008
  1. Dancing Queen - Eric Bibb [Abba session cover] 2:50
  2. Upside Down - Lisa Hannigan [Diana Ross session cover] 2:30
  3. I Feel Love - Cathy Davey [Donna Summer session cover] 5:06
  4. Ring My Bell - Director [Anita Ward session cover] 3:37
  5. Superstition - Martin Staunton & The Sharon Shannon Band [Stevie Wonder session cover] 3:06
  6. I Feel For You - Duke Special [Chaka Khan session cover] 4:09
  7. Last Night A DJ Saved My Life - Juno Falls [In Deep session cover] 3:41
  8. Jive Talking - Republic of Loose [Bee Gees session cover] 3:51
  9. Young Hearts - Declan O'Rourke [Candi Staton session cover] 4:19
  10. Hot Stuff - Jape [Donna Summer session cover] 3:52
  11. Fame - Fred [Irene Cara session cover] 3:59

  15. Get Down on It - Kevin Doyle [Kool & The Gang session cover] 2:56
  16. Disco Inferno - Prison Love [The Trammps session cover] 2:40

So... how exactly can one get hold of this new Lisa song, if they're not in Ireland? The Canadian iTunes store doesn't have the album up there...

Details are a bit vague but it seems that Lisa will be on Tony Fenton's Show (Today FM Ireland 2.30-4.30 BST) with other acts performing on the roof of the Today FM building for his (Tony's) Christmas Show tomorrow, Dec 5th.

Get into the Christmas spirit and tune in to Tony Fenton’s Christmas show live from the roof of Today FM at 2:30pm to hear an exclusive Christmas duet performed by Mick Flannery and the lovely Lisa Hannigan. If you don’t know who Lisa is by now, then you’ve been snoozin’. … lisahannigan.ie … Other performers on the show will include Jack L, Gemma Hayes and Wallis Bird.

This is one show you won’t want to miss!!
So that's 9:30am for me in Toronto (EST?) I can't record it as I'll be at work, but I hope someone's able to!

There's also a good review of Lisa's gig at St. John's Cathedral up here

Quote:
Lisa Hannigan is all kinds of ickle/awesome! Granted she’s tall, I guess she’s just skinny. She reminded me of Emiliana Torinni but taller, can play a guitar, wore crazy high boots with orange/red tights and a completely different voice. It’s hard to explain, you listen to her on the studio album and listen to her live and immediately you’ll adore her voice live. It’s warm and cosy, I can totally see why Damien Rice has her as female vocalist for his songs. At several occasions I felt like sinking into my seat and just let her soothing chillaxed voice massage my tired ears.

...

Midway during the set Gavin ballsd up on the piano which made the band stop the song, he got the chord wrong and everything chuckled at the blunder, Lisa came up to Gavin and gave him a hug for his blunder, it seemed like everyone was picking on Gavin. Perhaps he was just incredibly nervous having just played in London for the first time as a solo support. It was a very cheeky gig!
And there are so many pictures! She looks gorgeous as ever:

And Lille
