^^Oi tink he's just exaggerating it, plus speaking unusually fast.

^Not to mention that neither Girl, neither the husband seem to be speaking with a Czech accent
(by the way, why is this thread in the Damien Rice section?)

I was dissapointed. Damien Rice was involved in it? I didn't even know he was proud or agknoledged the fact he was irish.

^Yep, he was, very briefly. Though as far as I remember, he co-wrote at least Leave with Glen.
And what is this about his Irishness? I prefer musicians not waving flags, thumping chests or marking territories.

There's a bit more about Damien's involvement in this 2005 interview.

This is going to be slightly random, but does anyone know the DVD/Video where this screencap came from? I think it's from a concert in the Czech Republic?

I guess this is a spoiler? So... LOOK AWAY if you actually care about American Idol..?
Anyways, I'm hearing rumors that someone's going to attempt Falling Slowly tonight. I can't imagine this going well. But at least it's the first reason I've found this year to actually watch this show. |

American idol.... my friend knows i love glen and mar and when she was watching the worst show in the world she saw this guy singing falling slowly and told me to turn my tv on to the appropriate channel so i did... and i hear this guy covering falling slowly... annnnddd it was aweful.... i'm sorry but it wasn't good... i didn't feel anything.... it's just not the same.. you can't take something like that and sing it like he did... shrug... i wish i never saw it....

^it's a really difficoult song to sing because it's so simple. You just have to pour your soul into it, people have to FEEL you, or it's just another song.

I've been listening to all the radio people talk incessantly about idol on my way to the Uni this morning. It is seriously too early to listen to radio hosts saying that the problem was not the singing but the song - "its boring!" - aagh it was kind of frustrating. But yeah i don't think he's that bad of a singer, its just, the arrangement was very whinny and karaoke-ish. He shouldn't have sung that song, its wasn't a good choice period. And that lady singing should just not sing!
