How early do people think we need to line up at? I've been to plenty of lunchtime concerts there - and have never had a problem getting in. But I am thinking that might not be the case on Friday. Any ideas?
It was funny - I saw a show world cafe downstairs a couple of weeks ago and said to my friends --- I wish Damien would play here. And now he is! Yay! |

I'm planning to get there no later than 11. I figure it'll either be overkill and I'll be the first person in line, or it'll be mobbed and I won't get in.
I've never been to the Free At Noon with a very popular artist so I'm not sure what to expect. |

You do realize they gave out tickets, right? And that you need a ticket to get in.

Yup, I have a ticket, but per the e-mail they sent me, they overbook and cannot guarantee that you will get in, even if you reserved a spot:
"Signing up online for a Free At Noon show gives you priority standing, but does NOT guarantee you will get in. We typically overbook for each show due to anticipated no-shows. We have done pretty well estimating the total number of guests who will attend, however when a very popular artist is performing, we sometimes have to stop admitting people (even if they signed up in advance!)once we reach the maximum occupancy of the venue." |

Just back from XPN
It was amazing! They were all so cute and sleepy-looking, puffy eyes and bed head.
I got there at 10:30 and there were about 30 ppl ahead of me in line - I was still able to get right up front in front of Vyv. After the Number 7 song debacle, and they decided on Volcano, there was some sort of musical miscommunication between Damien and Vyv and she did not do the cello intro before he starts singing. She was mortified! She looked right at me and was like "Oh God!" and then just hid her head in her cello. Accidental babies with the outro was amazing! This was a great way to get in the mood for tonight! PS I went out the back and the van was right there. I hope some folks got to meet him - I had to leave because i was running late to the sitter (due to Damo's oversleeping, but that's Ok, well worth it!) wow
that was incredible...i was right in front of vyv as well scrappy. that solo at the end of accidental babies was gut wrenching. it was unique just to be so close that you're actually hearing the instrument and not just the amplification. i was hoping for Eskimo to top it off, eh well..maybe tonight.

Liam -
Were you the guy who said a few words to Vyv in between songs? Uglyandproud - that was the usual drummer - the guy who playe dth drums at the Borgata (don't know his name) was filling in for Tomo ( I believe Tomo was not there this summer because he had a baby?) Someone correct me if I am wrong. |
