Best of live
I was just trying to put together a best of Damiens live stuff. I was looking at alternative versions that are very different from album or single versions. For example I remember live on KCRW or Nine crimes live in galway 2004. I haven't got alot of his live shows so I was just wondering what other peolpe though his best alternative songs live are. My top five are below.
1. Be my husband (galway 2004) 2. I remember (KCRW) 3. Rootless tree (Abbey road) 4. Fool (dublin 2001) 5. Nine crimes (galway 2004) |

I personally love The Professor from Tower Theatre with the Child, Man, Silly Dog bit. I also really like Delicate from Firenze where he does the Old Tomatoes at the beginning. And, I like the medley of Amie, Rat, Lonelily, Grey Room, Cross-eyed Bear and Bottom shelf from El Rey.

If you're looking for 'radical' versions, don't forget the Metal version of The Blower's Daughter from Boston Dec 06!!!!! That show has a high quality Accidental Babies with extended cello/piano outro...
What about Lisa singing Cannonball, that's pretty different eh? I think it's in a gig from Derry. There are lots of great alternative Professor. There's one that has Babylon/Man Child Dog, I think it's from Dublin... and the ones that have the 3rd French verse. Same for I Remember. I like the one from Bonnaroo in which he sings a bit of Kylie!! and the one from El Rey that ends up with Damien shouting 'sing about me, sing about me' like crazy... |

I also love "Face" with the "Kiss" interlude. Must be from a festival, can't remember which one, though...

Wasn't there a set in '01 where Lisa sang everything? It might have been in TBMC.

At my first Damien gig, Damien was really sick and had almost no voice, so Lisa sang most of the songs...Damien attempted a few, but was quite froggy. It was at the 9:30 Club in DC, but there's only one recording of the whole show, and it's not very good. Someone out there has a better version, but it's only the first 30 minutes or so and I have never been able to get my hands on a copy...I know it exists, though.
