Default Glen Hansard - The Swell Season Album...

Im not sure if this has already been posted, but i found this little gem on The Frames website. And its a few little songs from his upcoming album! It hits the shelfs on the 21st of April i think! And the songs on the Profile, sound sooo amazing!! I cant wait to see him, and get my copy of the album. Well heres the address, go check it out!

The Swell Season

EDIT: I think my favourite one so far is, Sleeping.

The Frames have just been confirmed to play at Electric Picnic in Stradbally Estate in early September. To get you in the mood 2FM will be broadcasting The Frames Live at Oxegen 05 on Sunday 16 April from 11pm.

The band also play a one-off show in the Millennium Theatre, Derry on 29 April. And the night before, courtesy of 2FM again, a Classic Session from the band can be heard from midnight when Dan Hegarty looks back at their 1995 sound.

Meanwhile front man Glen Hansard will release a collaborative album, The Swell Season (Plateau), with Marketa Irglova on 21 April. They previewed songs from it at a one-off show in New York over the weekend and take it on the road in the shape of an intimate 6 date Irish tour featuring Cello, Fiddle and Piano from 24 April.

The Frames are currently in the studio working on their 6th studio album with a view to a September release. In the meantime an Irish language version of “Suffer In Silence” (“Pian Agus Ciunas”) on the Ceol 06 album which has just been released in celebration of Seachtain Na Gaeilge.

Ok after a first listen I'm not overly impressed....couple of good/reasonably decent tracks, one great one (Leave) and a couple of forgettable ones (which will no doubt grow to be favourites...but not at the moment).

Did anybody else think the rest of the band coming on Leave was completley out of the blue? The song was practically over!

I didn't know that, good point. Is it one of the tracks that will be on the film he is doing with Damo?

Ok having just seen them play it live from start to finish, I take it back (mostly). Only dodgy song remaining is The Moon

Yeah I was at the Tower Records gig. Glen and Marketa were on good form and the only downside was that my knees were in bits after having to crouch in an awkward position for the duration of the set! They played the album from start to finish. Glen even remembered me from the film shoot in January, which was nice.

Going to see him tommorow night in Christchurch as well, hopefully he'll break out a few Frames tunes while he's at it

Edit: Damien was there too, but I only found this out afterwards

No pictures!!

The annoying thing is this keeps happening with me and Damien. I'll be somewhere and he'll be there (standing right behind me, knowing me!) and I won't realise it until somebody says it the next day or whatever

I think the worst was in Vicar St a good while back. I saw Damien and I was thinking to myself "I know that guy from somewhere...". By the time I realised who he was he'd gone! Ah well....

But yeah, the gig was good. Looking forward to Christchurch tommorow.

'Sleeping' is a beautiful song.

Just an atmospheric shot, but it sets the tone of the performance perfectly.

Closing Door, where did you sit? (I got row D tickets) Did you catch Damien this time?

I don't know if damien was there, i saw paddy casey alright. I was sitting in row E on the right side. It was a really special show. One of those things that if you heard a recording of it you still wouldn't understand.

No yet again didn't know he was there until I just read it here. Typical

Myself and Bumpman were outside for a good bit before the doors opened and I was half expecting him to walk by, but no...

Ah well, great great gig. I've got that Jesus blood song stuck in my head!
