Hm, so you actually smoke yourself, but you judge women who smoke? Interesting. I stick to marlboro lights because everything else kills my throat. I'm not sure if a poll will be all that helpful, since it seems most people on here don't smoke.

I'm not sure I like the idea of this thread. In europe cigarette advertising is banned pretty much everywhere and this seems to do no more than advertise it...

Jennifer Anniston however says she has about 2 cigarettes in the evening. In my eyes that is kind of sexy.

Never mind. Thing is, I don't like that as a woman your behaviour is constantly judged as 'sexy' (acceptable) or not. Get's my goat quite a bit. I'll bite my lip though cos I don't wana get into an argument about it.

i either smoke marlboro reds or i roll my own cigs. i don't have a fav. type of tobacco for rolling them though. i like to try all kids of them!

i like rolling cause a pack of cigs will last me a day and small bag of tobacco will last me a week.

mhmm. reds! i just got back from PT with the marines... time to smoke! blah, i'm so tired i can hardly stand up and i did almost around 600 push ups plus and if i wasn't donig push ups i was either running, jogging, or running in place. damn, now's the time for a smoke haha

ps. dude, 5 packs a day!?!?! dang, i smoke about a pack of reds a day plus a handful of handrolled cigs too, but i got nothing on you. i've quit before, but i couldn't quit without replacing it with something... try working out if you really want to quit man!! i don't NEED a cigarette after i work out and alot of times i'm just too tired to give a damn and it starts choking me and making me feel bad. just thought i'd throw that idea out there. it won't help you completely quit with the amount you are smoking, but it should help you cut down!

^^thats horrendous HydeBurns, I'm very sorry to hear that.

Personally I've been smoking on and off for 3 years now and I've never gotten addicted. I sometimes go for two weeks or more without them, and it doesn't bother me. Weird that. I smoke because I like it. And for the record, I don't think it's remotely cool.

yeah, i use to smoke cigarettes as more a social thing, but never on my own really. so i was really just a weekend smoker. then i started buying cigarettes and from the moment i started i never smoked light stuff.. i was always smoking heavy crap, but then i realized it was hurting my lungs too much so i switched to dipping. i started using chewing tobacco for a few months, but that was REALLY addicting compared to smoking tobacco, so i quit doing that and then once my ex dumped me i started smoking cigarettes again.

i don't find smoking NEARLY as addicting as its made out to be, but i won't say i dno't have moments where i feel addicted and "need" a cigarette.

ps. in some cases i think smoking does make you look cool. not for me, but sometimes i see a guy smoking and i'll just be like "damn, he looks like a harda** and like he belonges smoking"

i smoke rollies but with menthol filters...i have cut down a lot though, when i was smoking straights i could probably get through a pack a day but now i only smoke 4 or 5 rollies a day and i'm trying to quit...we'll see how that goes

I have to make an amendment to that...saw Divine Comedy last night and Neil Hannon made smoking look like the coolest and most attractive activity invented. He is a rare exception though.

nicotine has a more subtle effect so it's one of those addictions you can only really feel when you try to quit.

*hangs head and admits* marlbro lights...only because when i started a year ago i didn't really know what else to ask for so I just asked for lights...they pretty much all taste the same to me. No it's not cool for the record, it's just a personal choice. I'm a vegetarian, run a few miles a day, do my yoga, and smoke...that's all there is to it.

On the same topic - according to wikipedia, marlboro lights have formaldehyde in them...I have no idea if other brands do too, and as seen recently wikipedia isn't exactly a reliable source of accurate information so maybe it's not true anyway, but it's a bit worrying....

i'm pretty sure it's true and i think most mainstream brands do also if i remember correctly, but what's the point of worrying about formaldehyde when there are forty others carcinogens that are just as bad in cigarettes?
