mpga versus mp3

What is the difference between mpga and mp3? The only difference I have experienced is that I cannot burn downloaded mpga's onto CD. Am I doing something wrong, or is that a sad fact? If so, all the mp3's on Damienrice.co.uk are really mpga's. I think. I'm pretty ignorant, though.

rename your mpga to mp3 and it should work. that's what i do
