I just missed the live performance but saw the video now. I know everyone is so over Blowers Daughter but it's always exquisite when he sings it live. When he sings 'pupil is denied', it's just the most perfect sound ever.

thanks everyone for the links & updates & all!!!!! cannot even imagine how you all figured out to put the stream in sync

seriously, don't you see a change in the way Damien is performing, I really cannot remember a performance in which he's with his eyes open most of the time, he transmits faaaaaaar more than with his eyes closed (well, everyone I guess)

^It's easier to focus and not worry about other people with the eyes closed. I used to sing with my eyes closed all the time, untill someone told me to open them once in a while to communicate with the audience. I am not sure they were right, cause I get too shy to communicate with my eyes anyway....

I am now really sorry I went to bed before the joint performance, booohoooh....

on a serious note, was just reading about the Icelandic song. The lyrics are very sad, it's a sorta lullaby that a mother sings to her child before throwing the baby into a waterfall cos she rather do that than giving the baby to the authorities...

"This song was written by Jóhann Sigurjónsson in 1912 for his play about the legend outlaw Fjalla-Eyvind, while hiding he meets the widow Halla and they fall in love, the fruit of that love is Tóta.
When the sheriff discovers Fjalla-Eyvindur whereabouts they are on the run.
They are caught surprised and instead handing the child Tóta over to the authority she is forced to throw the child in the waterfall after singing this lullaby."

here's a version with English subtitles:

HAHA! It might seem a bit odd when I'm singing some heartbroken whiney singer-songwriter tune, but I'll try - if Tyra says it, it is the law
