Joy of joy of joys

Going to Tignes in France this evening, snowboarding for a week - It's going to be great!!!

I won't be around for a while, obviously, so I hope all at the igloo have a good one while I'm away!

i'm baaaaack

i had an amazing time!
Except on the first day, another snowboarder crashed into me at a very high speed, and his board sliced open my head... Most pain I've ever felt - there was so much blood! They took me down the mountain in some kind of snow ambulance, off to a hospital where they stitched me up. They also had to shave my head in order to do so..... which is really lame!!

I'm absolutely fine though, and here is a picture of my head!

hey ho, it'll grow back!

And the snow was incredible, the best the alps have had for 50 years... Damn good fun! Missed the igloo though!!

actually, he's fine!

he was very very sorry though! It's so hard to explain how it happened... I was stopped, facing up the slope on my knees. He was edging down the slope, board pointing across the slope not down it - coming down very fast, until he fell over backwards, and did a backward roll. His board came over his head, and he was right in front of me - so the board landed on my head!

Pwned indeed, Tommy!

Here are a couple of nice snowy pictures though!

Sorry you got hurt, glad you are ok!! Great pics, they are making me look forward to going skiing in 2 weeks (though I am a bit nervous, b/c I haven't skiid in a couple years and my skiing muscles are out of shape!)

Ah yes, I was worried about that too! It'd been 2 years since I had been, and on the first day I ached soooo bad! But after a while I got back into it and all was well - I'm sure you'll be fine, have an amazing time!!

It's this little place called Wisp, in Deep Creek, Maryland (eastern US). It's not a very big place, but it's close to where I live, and every year assorted members of my husband's family meet there for the week after Christmas. We're unable to go for the whole week this year though, we will just be there for 4 days I think.
I'd like to go back to Tahoe soon, I've only been there once but it was when I was still just learning so I didn't really get to experience it much.
