Simon Jewell
i can't believe there isn't a thread about him yet and i think it's high time, so if he's too modest to brag about himself i'll just have to do it
simon is currently in the studio recording his debut EP! one of the tracks is fallen curtain, which i think is absolutely brilliant, both musically and lyrically (it's become my favorite song) you can listen to an unmastered demo of this track on his myspace page here: http://www.myspace.com/simonjewell he also recently made an appearance on balconytv.com, which is this very cool site that broadcasts unsigned irish artists as they perform live on a balcony overlooking dublin city! i love this whole concept.. check out simon's fantastic performance of reflections here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N_aPr2kKd4 and on top of all that mr. jewell is about to embark on his first irish tour supporting travega! here are the tour dates and venues he'll be performing at: Nov 4 2006 8:00P The Music Factory Carlow Nov 5 2006 8:00P The Stables Mullingar Nov 7 2006 8:00P Smyths Limerick Nov 9 2006 8:00P Richardsons Galway Nov 11 2006 8:00P Casbah Letterkenny i would highly recommend checking out his music and catching him on tour, because i reckon someday we'll all be saying "ah he's a legend! and i knew him way back when.." |

^ it was a great performance and reflections is such a good song! i think simon sounded amazing (tho he says he had a cold, poor guy) and it was funny when the presenter got tangled up in the mic at the end

Erm cheers mel for the thread. Im not mad about self promotion but i guess it has to be done
all this is happening so quick, studio, rehearsing, tour. so yeah, the tour is a warm up to releasing the EP which im recording at the moment in Dublin. Hoping to do a bit of distribution, not sure if ill be able to do it all on my own but i have a few people who can help out with regards record labels etc all im really hoping for is a platform to stand on once this is all done. Ive been screwed over already in a similar situation but a different industry and i was young and naive and ended up getting badly hurt by the business, so i guess im hoping this can take off and go places. Anyways there are more dates to be added. perhaps cork, dingle, belfast, ennis. so hopefully they get added and the EP is recorded soon! im co-producing the EP so its quite time consuming, hopefully in the end it will be worth it! Cheers for taking an interest and ill try keep you all updated with how it goes! Simon

you're welcome (yeah somebody has to do it )
it's all very exciting.. i think it's definitely going to take off and go places because.. well, your music is brilliant. do keep us posted and best of luck with everything! and you're right johanna, he's an incredible actor too, but i think music is his true calling.. i'm looking forward to a u.s. tour at some point Last edited by SisterMidnight; 11-30-2007 at 01:34 AM. |
