Default Opinions please...

Hi,

I am off to record some tunes next month, and am thinking about a studio version of this tune:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/jersey/realmedi...rne_my_run.ram

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

JT

Thanks guys, yea that's one of my own tunes.

Lyrics:

When I feel the hunger, you fill me up, you fill me up
when I feel I'm falling, you pick me up, you pick me up
and I win back the sun
and it's true what they say
and I've been blessed the whole of my life
when it's you and I know

I've had my run
I've had it all and seen it gone, gone, gone
I've had my run
I've had it all, and seen it gone, gone, gone, gone, gone

when you hear the thunder, I'll fill you up, I'll fill you up
when you feel you're under, I'll pick you up, I'll pick you up
and I win back the sun
and it's true what they say
and I've been blessed the whole of my life
when it's you and I know

I think the lyrics are lovely. My favourite track of yours, used to be 'sold', but I think it has just been replaced by this track. Good luck in the studio Justin, I bet you have a ball! (any room for a stow-away btw)?

Miss Pink

She says 'we don't crave what hurts
and talks of our hope breaking
I see your name every day
I read your thoughts, feelings and dreams
I feel like I know you, miss you when you're gone
but I don't have a face to touch
or your body to shape my song

I've got nothing to go on, just some words
a smile created in my mind, and some eyes that I can't find

I think of you on that bus
and wish it was me you were watching
I wonder if he's aware, of what he could be holding
eyes may be windows to the soul
but the net comes with subtitles
I'll never read your mind, but I can read your hope

I've got nothing to go on, just some words
a smile created in my mind, and some eyes that I can't find

I would love to mate, did I mention my father (and his entire family) are Irish?

Apart from NYC I am also taking two weeks out to surf a few reef breaks in Lohifushi (Maldives), but I would still love to come over and play some shows in Ireland and especially, meet some eskimos.

We'll have to see how things go, but a long weekend would be good with some shows in and around Cork? Dunno, I'd need help finding good venues.

Not yet (melody), but I'll see what I can come up with.

Glad you like it. And really, would you go out with a 'boy' for writing you a song!?! Sh*t, all those years I wasted when I could have been taking girls out by writing a few lyrics

Ah well, live and learn. I don't think it works with women my age.

Thanks niallo... although I wasn't trying to charm Pinky, I just enjoy trying to come up with lyrics, and this was a real challenge as usually I write about myself or someone I know really well. Without meeting Miss P and only connecting with an online presence, it was tough but then that was the theme I explored.

Melody written, song complete.

Lyrics slightly amended for melody:

Softly, take it easy
slowly, on your own
she says 'we don't crave what hurts
and talks of our hope breaking
but I don't have a face to touch
or your body to shape my song

I've got nothing for me to go on, just some words
a smile created in my mind, and some eyes that I can't find

softly, take it easy
slowly, on your own
I think of you on that bus
and wish it was me you were watching
but I don't have a face to touch
or your body to shape my song

I've got nothing for me to go on, just some words
a smile created in my mind, and some eyes that I can't find

Well Pinky, I played your song last night at the Moody Blues... it was my first song of the night and it got a good reception... I may have to record it when I am in New York in May... and if Vienna's gig happens I will definitely play it there.

Of course if it is recorded, you will be the first to hear it.

Sorry about my email addy, I can't for the life of me work out how to buy more memory for the bloody thing, try juzzza (at) jerseymail.co.uk

PS, your song is called 'Mellowdrama' and that's gonna be the name of my next CD too.

Not quite, I just explained that I had only composed it the day before, and that it's about seeing someone every day without actually knowing them, and is almost a confession to that person, almost like 'look, I know THIS about you, and I know you know nothing about me, but it could be really good' you know?

People are used to me ranting before a song.

i really liked that song..really really really good.
your style actually reminded me a lot of pete courtney, have you ever heard him? www.petecourtney.com

pubs in cork you could play at:
an crúiscín lán
the lobby (but apparently it's for sale?)
and i can't think of any more, not being a pub-goer!

venues:
the half moon theatre
the everyman palace theatre
the triskel arts centre
the sirius arts centre, cobh
