maybe we will get the new Damien record this year? hard to believe...

Five Leaves Left has generously compiled in an esnips folder 53 songs including Accidental Babies. It's the last file listed. Follow the link http://www.eskimofriends.com/forum/s...ahoo+briefcase

Default Check THIS out!

I have just been apprised of an alternate (w/absolutely beautiful sound quality) version of the song played this summer at the Palladium so here are the lyrical changes for the latest version:

Well I held you like a lover:
Happy hands
And elbow in the appropriate place.

And we ignore our others:
Happy plans
With a delicate look upon your face.

Our bodies moved and hardened:
Hurting parts of your garden
With no room for a pardon
In a place
Where no one knows
What we have done.

Do you cum?
Together ever with him?
And is he dark enough?
Enough to see your light?
And do you brush your teeth before you kiss?
Do you miss my smell?
And is he bold enough to take you on?
Do you feel like you belong?
And does he drive you wild?
Or just mildly free?

What about me?

Well you held me like a lover:
Sweaty hands
And my foot in the appropriate place.

And we use cushions to cover:
Happy glands
In the mild issue of our disgrace.

Our minds pressed and guarded:
While our flesh disregarded
The lack of space
For the lighthearted
In the boom
That beats our drum.

Well I know I make you cry
And I know sometimes you wanna die
But do you really feel alive
Without me?
If so: be free.
If not: leave him for me.
Before one of us has accidental babies.

We aren't free.

Do you cum?
Together ever with him?
And is he dark enough?
Enough to see your light?
And do you brush your teeth before you kiss?
Do you miss my smell?
Is he bold enough to take you on?
Do you feel like you belong?
And does he drive you wild?
Or just mildly free?

What about me?
What about me?
What about...?

Well I'm not sure if that means you approve or not, Alumni

However, I am 100% positive they are all the correct words.

No he sings different lyrics in them both! Spamlet is right, as it wasn't taken from the La Trianon gig!

Alumni,

http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr

Please use that to read before our posts before you reply. Had you done so, you'd know I said these were the alternate lyrics for the London Palladium version.

Closing Doors,

Cute, but can you seriously name me one other occasion where I said I was 100% sure of lyrics that turned out to be incorrect? I'm extremely thorough and when I'm not absolutely positive, I always say so (as in the 'new song' thread).

I wasn't trying to offend you or anything, man! In terms of an example I seem to remember you insisting that the lyric in AB was "a delicate cup upon your face" rather than "a delicate look upon your face".

This song becomes even definatly a song about Rennee Zwellwegger i concur. The affair etc... It would become fantastic if that became a true meaning.

Ah yes Closing,

Touche. I did, unfortunately, have a glitch in the first copy I had of the song which somehow distorted that one word.

I didn't insist though. In fact, I admitted that it sounded like an odd word choice and even asked the person who corrected it (Sister) if I could hear their version since I suspected mine wasn't as clear. I used the phrase can I "take a better informed listen?" which proves that I wasn't 100% certain.

Admit it: Hell of a rationale though, wasn't it? I could justify any lyrical choice Damo made regardless of how seemingly odd!

However, as you'll notice in this thread it was quite temporary and I've long since fixed that error. I must not have ever posted about the fact that I had heard it correctly very soon after those first posts and instead simply adjusted the lyrics without doing so.

Oh, i am so jealous of you all!!!!
Two days now i've been trying to download Beacon Theatre, i've never seen Damien Rice singing and playing, i've never heard Accidental Babies, in fact i 've heard nothing apart from "O", "b-sides" and "Unplayed piano".
I am readind the lyrics again and again and i am trying to imagine the tune....
I would be grateful if somebody could send me a cd...
Thank you in eskimos!!
If you ever come to Greece there is a place for you.

You'll have to trade for it. Every second person here has been posting up email addresses in the last few weeks. It's becoming excessive.

And the Mildest shoe of our disgrace (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

No way in Hell, dude. That's the goofiest mis-interpretation I've heard in ages.

Thanks for the making me roll on the floor crying with laughter, though.

No comment on the your/my foot since I don't know which version you listened to.

Doesn't mean I was wrong though unless it was sung on the Palladium version because Damo often changes around little pronouns like that each time he sings. Recently he changed the lines in "Grey Room" again from "keep me warm" to "keep you warm".

Same goes for the "F you up" adlib. I haven't heard every version of the song he's ever done and don't doubt he may have thrown that line in one night.

Raquel,

I sent you an email but no I lost most all of my Damo rarities a few months ago when my original hard-drive died.
