Here's an article about it. It's good to see him involved in things like this.

^^So it is 'connoisseur'?? does the word exist in English or is it just French? guess it means something like 'expert'...
funny they sell it as an exclusive track, when it's also in this Future of Hope movie soundtrack... it says I-tunes exclusive, but I guess it means US I-tunes... hope it's world-wide I-tunes though

In my Spanish version of itunes it does not appear the song, but every song (at least here) has 30 second preview (if you are asking that).
Thanks for the info, Marti!!!

Perhaps he'll switch the Future of Hope one for the "Oceans" song he wrote on the TED Voyage...

In french, it should be "connaisseur". Seems that the word "connoisseur" in english exist, though. Wait and see.

found this on a blog, ouch at the 'nearly-half a decade since 9'
Most notably, perhaps, is that Damien Rice contributed a brand new song, “The Connoisseur of Great Excuse,” to the compilation. It’s been nearly a half-decade since the Irish singer-songwriter’s last studio album, 9, was released, though he has unveiled two promising new tracks this year so far: “What If I’m Wrong?” from a documentary on Tibet and “Under the Tongue” from the soundtrack to a PBS special on the music of Ireland. Tracklist for Gasoline Rainbows is below.

Except for a few film festivals, I don't think the movie has even been released yet. This facebook page is really the only updates I have seen as far as the film goes.

the soundtrack to The Dragon... hasn't been officially released, but I guess the guy means that we have managed to get the song as Damien did perform it live (in Santa Barnara first, then in London)

So I discovered I could watch videos on my Ipod (that feature has never worked before...) so I decided to search Damien Rice, since O has been my soundtrack for tonight. I re-discovered this song, and as I was listening to it like it was a normal Damien song on my Ipod I realized just how much I love it. For one, the lyrics are totally relatable- "My eyes were close, they're open now, I'm waking up". I just absolutely love it. It reminds me of some things I've been going through this year, and it especially gives sight into the past few years of his life as well, written for a charity album or not. I didn't even mind the ending this time around It's an absolutely beautiful song, definitely in my top favorites of his newer ones.

I am listening to the song right now. I thought it was great by listening to it the first time, but it has grown so much since then. It's just an amazing song for me. I am so looking forward to get more new songs.

I agree with the growing aspect of the song. I've liked it more and more since time has gone on, but I still really hate the la's at the end.
