Default Lisa Hannigan quit?

Dunno if it's true, but an acquintance of mine (who's close friends with Damien) told me that Lisa quit Damien's band half an hour before the gig in Munich.

See also the Munich gig (she hasn't appeared either, see also the gig thread here).

What's really strange, too, is that at all those gigs in Germany Damien didn't want the air conditioner to be running ("too loud", he's been quoted) so all those poor people had to stay in a very heated climate which was absolutely terrifying for some. Hence all the sweat...made me wonder as well!!

Batman and Robin split? Did Robin join forces with the Joker (a.k.a. Gary Lightbody)?

How trustworthy? Well, it's no joke, that's for sure. The person is not known for jokes about stuff like that. I couldn't believe it either when I first heard it.

Maybe she couldn't stand his moods anymore? Maybe they argued about the air conditioner thingy? Who knows.

I absolutely can't imagine her quitting just like that. I mean, I COULD imagine her quitting the band, but not half an hour before a gig. Maybe they got into a fight, but if so, it could as well be just temporary. I don't believe that. Not until Damien or any of the other band members confirms it.

Damn, we SHOULD have asked where she was, yesterday...

I just wanted to know somethin about the whole situation, that's why I posted it here. To shed some light on the whole thing. Not to upset people.

I'm in shock. Why this is absolutely insane. If it becomes official it will go up on DR.com, but probably not for a while. If she wasn't at the gig, then it is rather likely. 5 different artists travelling in one bus for an extended period of time is probably very straining. This is really sad. I feel for the entire band.

You know, it's very difficult to refrain from being a part of all this gossip. It's this kind of stuff that stirs a frenzy amongst fans, especially those who have been drifting away...only to be immediately brought back by all the rumors.

How reliable is this "Private Joker?" And I truly hope your friend is imaginary.

I hope that is not true. Lisa is an important Part of Damien`s Music.
But for now, we have to wait for an officially statement.

Alright Hendrik, get your story right. On your first post (quoted above) you admit that your acquaintance is the one who's close friends with Damien. THEN, in your second post, you say that your acquaintance knows someone who is close to Damien.

Well, which one is it? It's either one or the either and cannot be both. And look, if all this is in fact true, then that will really suck. But if you're going about spreading rumors, you're better off gone.

Why don't you just calm down a little. Hendrik heard something and he just wanted to know if anyone knew what was going on. There's no need for this kind of hostility.

Well, maybe what he WANTED to say in his first post was not "who's close friends with Damien" but "whose close friend's with Damien"?
Would be just a typically German grammar mistake... I still don't believe it, though.

"who's friends with a close friend of Damien", that's what I wanted to say! Sorry about the typo.

Okay, that's much better. Little things like that really do matter so just take the extra 30 seconds or whatever to review your post before you submit it. And in regards to the whole "hostility" mess, there's absolutely no reason to bring that up. I'm a grammatarian and little typos like the one above really get on my nerves. Take it how you wish.

either one or the either Did you mean to say "either" twice or was the second one supposed to be "other?"

My, we're growing an odd crop of "grammatarians" this year! A true grammarian (the proper term, btw) wouldn't be caught dead ending their sentences with prepositions.

You also incorrectly placed the punctuation mark inside of the quotes ("Private Joker?") in your first post.
