have you ever seen Damien live?
I'm just curious, how many of you saw him live and how many didn't have that blessed occassion to see him perform live..
I haven't.. been a fan of his music since '06 and he was a never on a tour anywhere nearer than 1000 miles.. I guess now, if he'd come to Prague, I'd go through hell to get there.. doesn't seem that far anymore ( not that I moved about 200 km closer to Prague this year ) |

The first time I ever heard his music was at his concert in 2006 in L.A. I went for a friend's birthday with a big group. I fell asleep because I had been up since four that morning. I didn't connect with the music at all because I was so tired and pretty much missed the entire concert. I listened to his C.D. a week or two later and fell completely in love. I'm dying to hear him live again and actually appreciate it haha

I was fortunate to see Damien in Philly in 2004. It was phenomenal! I'd pay almost anything to see him again.

Rather appropriately, I've seen him live 9 times (1 in Ohio, 3 in Pennsylvania, 5 in NYC). Supposed to be 10 but livenation lost my ticket in the mail. Chatted with him/band after 7 of those but the other two times were out of state with someone else driving and they didn't want to stay after.

Went to see his gig once in Paris and once in Strasbourg, with miss Hannigan included in the pack. I'm happy I could saw this before the "accident". Saw him after march 2007 (when the "accident" happened), 5th of july, 2007, Paris again (Olympia), and it was good too. Total : 3 times.
But never got the chance to talk to him. Waiting for this occasion to come the sooner as possible.

Yes, the brighton dome!!!!! Excellent acoustic, magical night. Delicate was sung "a capella" with no microphones. It's a pitty there's no recording (as far as I know) of that night. By the way, it was a kind of sadness when I saw a Huuuuge hammer limusine waiting for him at the end of the concert. |

Nope. Almost did. I was going to go to a show in 2007, but it fell on Mother's Day and my mom is really crazy with tradition and such. So instead we drove two hours to buy flowers.

I've seen him 4 times now, but never with Lisa.
Toronto '06 (solo, acoustic); Toronto '07 (twice); Montreal '07 -- they were all great, but that first show (where my friend stole me a candleholder from the stage. god love the security guard that saw him leap onto the stage and walk away with it) and the one in Montreal were phenomenal (best encore ever)! |

I saw him in Nashville at the Ryman. The Ryman is such a beautiful venue and the perfect place to see an artist! The sound was amazing! I think I remember not expecting it to be so loud, but it really was! He opened the show with the piano version of "Rootless Tree", which sounded incredible in the quiet, wonderful venue that is the Ryman Auditorium.

Sorry, can't seem to spell 'disapponting'.
Well, it was about 1-2 weeks after Lisa was out. It was not the same. The venue was too big, the audience too chatty, I arrived too late so couldn't see (or hear!) much, the set list was too run of the mill... Just disappointing after the first life-changing gig experience s'all.

It wasn't a HUGE venue, just larger than the first time (but same as 3rd time, but that was seated and more focused, AND THE AUDIENCE WAS QUIETER!) and the whole feeling was...off. Can't describe it any other way.

i've been so fortunate, always sitting within the first 6 rows at every gig. i've had the pleasure of meeting him twice, actually met the whole band outside of the beacon in may of '04 who were so gracious to talk to us in the rain (my husband held an umbrella over lisa's head and actually carried vyv's cello onto the tour bus for her that night)
tower theatre apr. 2004 (front row!) beacon theatre - april 2004 (front row!) beacon theatre - may 2004 central park - summer 2006 tweeter center, camden summer 2006 hiro ballroom, nov 2006 (front row!) mann center, philly may 2007 radio city, may 2007 wamu @ msg, sept 2007 (front row!) i think that's it, but i had tickets for three more shows (tower theatre & 2 beacon shows in dec. 2006) which i didn't attend due to my mother's unexpected death. |
