I realllly loved the show (despite the fact that my wallet fell out of my purse and my cash got CLEANED OUT...I had just sold my extra tickets to a friend).

It was great seeing some Eskimos before the show, and I was absolutely transfixed by the performance. He's really stepped up his game since last fall; his solo act no longer feels like it's lacking anything. He seemed fairly lighthearted between songs, took requests in stride, and Rat Within the Grain out of NOWHERE?!?

I wouldn't change a thing (well, maybe I should have brought a purse with a zipper). Much love to all of our out of town guests tonight. It is cold and raw here!!!

Here's a few pics. I have audio I can upload tomorrow if no one beats me to it.

the Long Way/Cold Water medley was the most astonishing and beautiful thing ever. Got goosebumps and I´m a kinda insensitive guy

I absolutely agree. I'm so happy he's had a chance to practice this song and create such a gorgeous live arrangement. And we all knew it was a gestural nod to Cold Water, I was happy he confirmed our hunch.

Thanks for sharing, everyone! Rat in the grain and cold water! He used to do a Buddhist chant after Cold Water. Did he do it tonight? I think my head might explode if he did.

I'm aggressively whispering insane, camarillas, is that it my friend, and what if I'm wrong on here for Philly! Hope he hears!!

Looking forward to more posts, pics, videos!!

Hey All! Hope you enjoyed the show. Very satisfying show for me. Just about 2 hours. I missed the strings, and sometimes the band. However, it was nice seeing him alone just to watch the artist, his guitar & a few effects. It was worth the wait of 8 years.

Venue / Crowd
I do miss the comfort of the Opera House. The Orpheum hasn't been much for years. Tonight, I felt like it needed to be torn down. Do we really need 40 beer lines in keep ppl from getting to their seats. 98% awesome crowd, the other 2% tarnished some beautiful songs.

Damien
Seemed to be in a great mood. Took the request for Older Chests, laughed a bit at himself, and got the audience involved with Volcano.

I wasn't expecting him to mention Lisa by name. Nice of him to recognize her contribution to "I Remember".

Was it me, or did we really suck at putting together the 3 part harmony to Volcano? I guess you get a little bit off balance when your just getting used to seeing sidewalks again. ;-)

Anyone else told Damien rejected the shirt designs? Weird.

Highlights for me
The Rat Within the Grain / Older chests / Woman like a Man / I Remember / The Box

I might need lots of liquid courage before (and that still may not work). If he plays them, and I turn into a ridiculous little girl who annoying shouts I love you all night so he can s*** me out like chocolate, please feel to push me in front of his fancy bus.

Thanks!! I'll be awake for another 1/2 hr bc I have to be up at 5:30 for work. Did he do any Buddhist chant (he's really not supposed to put it in song), but it would be significant if he did.

Here's my audio file of the whole show from my phone in the 7th row. It's pretty good...I missed the first half of MFFF, but it was unplugged and a bit hard to hear.

Nevertheless the show was amazing. But it had a different vibe than the 5 NYC shows I went to in the last 5 months. I can't put my finger on it at the moment but something seemed out of place.

However we couldn't have asked for a better ending, Long long way / cold water was just gut-wrenchingly beautiful and he didn't drop his guitar this time.

I have it on video. Hopefully tomorrow I will find some time to get all this media posted.

Where were you sitting? I was Left Center about 7 rows in from the stage, I had one girl directly in back of me that had a tendency to sing too loud at times but that goes with the territory of attending concerts, other than her I thought the crowd was pleasant, maybe it was just my section... In NY I had a girl behind me who would scream/screach "I Love you" at the top of her lungs about 5 times per song, it absolutely ruined the show for me, and for anyone else in a 15 row radius of her...

thanks for sharing your pics, videos, etc
listening to the audio right now

I must say I'm not a big fan of the harmonium. I do love the Long Long Way -> Cold Water transition. Fantastic way to close the show

i´m not either (can find it quite irritating), but it suits the song perfectly... either that or the fact that i love this song so so much no matter what.

There is an odd, but mellower, deeper, bagpipe quality to the harmonium. I used to hate bagpipes, but love them now. I like the harmonium. I also love an accordion (especially when Ben Lovett from Mumford plays it) and used to hate them too.

I must say that I really miss his piano work. Couldn't he do with a keyboard of some sort that is easier to transport around or, is that not respected among musicians?

I have to agree with you, I really miss his Piano playing, and was wondering the same thing, why he couldnt bring a small upright or keyboard with him this tour.
I definitly prefer when he tours with a full band, the Piano and Cello are probably the two things I missed the most at Boston and NY. I am hoping he brings his band when he comes around again this summer.

Desole,

I had a couple of glitches in my recording due to fans bumping me in my row. May I use your copy to repair any drop outs?
