Bonnaroo'04 Improv
Been listening to the recording from Bonnaroo 2004 and found so many highlights that I thought I'd share them with you
- He does a really funny improv about the audience in the festival, There's a man with a pair of glasses,... I see a man with a camera in his hand, I see people with microphones... and while Damien is doing the improv, Lisa is singing Glorybox in the background so the effect is amazing. Furthermore, this all comes at the end of an amazing live version of Sex Change. - I Remembe with the Can't get you out of my head!! With an incredible Damien freakout, he ends up literally screaming, check his last note/scream!! - Elephant. Stunning version!!!! - Vyv doing 7 Nation Army... I'm going to Bonnaroo!!! They're in my usual 4shared thingy: http://www.4shared.com/dir/2208578/4...0/sharing.html |

I fix it!!!! Well, I think so
I had to re-name the file, now it's called Bonnaroo improv. There must be some censor or puritan at 4shared, they thought Sex Change might be something else... |

Check his scream during I Remember at around 11:20, almost scared me
Damien seems to like Bonnaroo. I don't know why but in some places, he seems to do an extra effort and his gigs are always better there, like when he plays Italy or Montreal. LA shows are always great too, but for instance here in Oakland, his last 2 shows have been ok but not wow. Last one was super short, 1h 30 min max, didn't say a word, like he was in a hurry and not 100%... |

If you were in Oakland.....cha boom!
Agreed it is the locale but also the mood of the day no Marti? Like Luzern he was slow at first but once he took in the awesomeness of the kkl I think he really started getting into it........and at louisville and especially memphis I think he was just in a really good mood over those shows - he did the improv song in louisville and then the whole back stage with liquor deal in memphis (granted that was the last night) - so maybe you guys if lucky can empty out the stock at the greek??!! |

I was meaning that in some places he consistenly gives more, not once but everytime he performs there, like Montreal, all the shows there thru the years are amazing, like if he makes an effort because he likes the place... and I've seen him in Oakland twice and always had the feeling he didn't care... I mean, it was great but could have given more...
Next time he should play Santa Cruz instead of Oakland He could find plenty of motivation around here!! |

It sounds like Damien's actually drumming on the body of his guitar during the "Can't get you outta my head," bit in I Remember. I dig it. At least, that's what I think he's doing.
The improv is so awesome, too. Can't stop listening to it. Thanks for sharing - you can actually nab four tracks from this performance on the Bonnaroo website, I Remember among them. |
