Default The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and 9 Crimes Video

I think I may have found the inspiration for Damien's 9 Crimes video. The following quote is from the book The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath:

...I couldn't get them out of my mind. It was like the first time I saw a cadaver. For weeks afterward, the cadaver's head—or what there was left of it—floated up behind my eggs and bacon at breakfast and behind the face of Buddy Willard, who was responsible for my seeing it in the first place, and pretty soon I felt as though I were carrying that cadaver's head around with me on a string, like some black, noseless balloon ...

Possible connection there? I think it is likely, my friends, that this is where the idea for Lisa's head to become a balloon originated. Maybe it shows how she (his girlfriend, not Lisa, of course) consumed him and he carried her in his mind everywhere with him.

We had a big discussion at the time about the video. The consensus was formed that the video was based on an old French short-film called 'The Red Balloon'.

But maybe your reference fed into the idea too...

i think the nine crimes video would have been all the better if it had eggs and bacon in it!

and fyi Sylvia Plath is like my favorite person ever, so that would be awesome if it were really his inspiration...
