I just hope it doesn't end up getting delayed a million times. I can think of about a hundred artists tha promise albums that still havn't shown up. And of about all the albums I'm anticipating.......Damo's new one is the one I'm reeeeaaally waiting for.

he's still making enough money off the first so id doubt his label are in too much of a rush to get the 2nd one out... hopefully theres some new songs on it but im sure it will be alot of the b-sides we know and maybe 1 or 2 new ones

well on the tom dunne interview he said he has only written 1 or 2 new songs since being on tour and that was a few months back so if the album is already recorded lets just pray he kept some very secret from us

I'm so worried that it'll have nothing we havn't heard on it. I mean he's got so many b-sides and unreleased songs. And I believe I have them all. I sure hope there is a load of new stuff on there. In theory, even songs we've already heard would be fine and dandy because they'd be studio versions. But that's one thing I like about damien...how lo-fi his music is. I hope the new album isn't over produced. I hope it still has that "recorded in a bedroom" feel to it.

What he really needs is new stuff for touring.

he recorded it in a studio didnt he? i was kinda hoping he would use the home recording thing again but i suppose he has to money to do it properly now... i do worry it will just be songs ive heard as there is so many b-sides that he probably wouldnt think have been passed around as much as they have been.. ill be dissapointed if its just them

If he has the money or not to do some really good quality studio songs, I hope he realizes that alot what is attractive about his sound.....is how indie it sounds. How everything is so low key. At some points in his songs....if you listen.....he's barely even playing the guitar. He'll be just lightly plucking a string here and there. Swooning his fans with barely anything but his voice.

thats true and "moody mooday" is a perfect example of a song being ruined by over production... the studio version is so poppy and i heard that after loving one of the live versions i got here ages ago and was so dissapointed with

I absolutley hated the U.S. radio version of cannonball. They sped it up a little bit and put poppy drums to it. I was actually thinking about calling the radio station and telling them to play the album version. If the radio edit cannonball were the first song I ever heard of damien...I probably would've never bought his album. It was the video to volcano that made me go buy the album. And the audio to the video is even more lo-fi than the album version. It sounds like he's playing in my living room. That's one of the things I loved about it.

If he really didrecord it all in one day then I wouldn't worry too much about overproduction. |

Anyone else notice that they said Cannonball was going to be re-released later this year. I can't see the new album appearing until the sales of the re-released Cannonball have died down. This'll push back the new album even further.
