a girl in the house I was in was going to a gig of his and other irish artists in the Half Moon Cork around Oct/ Nov 2001. didn't go coz I wasn't into bands I've ever heard off.

D'oh!

The same girl also made be go his Lobby gig on the week release of O. So I went and never looked back.

The end.

Me andthe girlfriend in the bath, with a joint... Gobsmacked at Delicate, Volcano, Blower's Daughter, Cannonball... They just kept coming and were amazing at first listen. We realised after a while that the water was freezing cold and we were rinkled prunes.

A friend of mine heard Volcano on the radio and heard he was coming to Minneapolis so he bought tickets and asked me to go. I love live music so I went even though I had no clue who he was. I was absolutely mesmerized. That was back in September and I have see him live four times since then. I am addicted to his live shows.

wow that gig must have been amazing. I first heard Cannonball about a year back and then got the album, love all his work and saw him at Brixton last year. Fantastic gig!

Which record store Heartbeat, Top 20 or Resistance?

I've been to both Damien gigs in Kilkenny in October/November 2001 and around February 2002 in the Zoo Club. I never heard anything about doing an instore at the time... arrghhh, I so woulda been there!

i live in washington DC (yeah, the capital of the hated US...ha ha) and i listen to a lot of online music at work (much to the chagrin of my bosses) and there is a radio station on the other side of the country (www.kcrw.com) and they always have a show called "morning becomes eclectic." justlistening thru the list of artists and then when i hearddamo and lisa & gang, my jaw just dropped....

since then i have just been trying to spread the word....

My sister was studying in England back in 02' and met an Irish fellow, whom she is still together with, and she went back home with him and saw damien play at belfast i think it was in november or december. she came back home and told me about how incredible damien was. I didnt get to hear any of his music until she recorded the KCRW broadcast and sent it to me...i think ever since then i have been a huge fan. i didnt get to see him live until i was visiting some cousins in france in october 03 and we drove to paris from normandie and saw him, it was great because before then i had only heard 5 or 6 of his songs. we got lost and got there late right when he was going into Amie. Since then i have seen him 3 more times in New Orleans, some music festival in Atlanta, and Bonnaroo. My cousins bought me a ticket to see him again in Paris but I couldnt get out of school in timeto catch a flight there but my sister was able to get it and see him and she tapped the show for me. But thats how i got into damien.

Summer 2003, the FM/AM radio& CD in myBeetle went out, don't know why... and my sister had ordered his CD online a while beforeand really liked it. She recorded it for me on tape cause that was what was working in my car and said "tell me what you think?". Thats all I ever listened to from then on and I'm stuck on him...and I still haven't fixed the radio in my car. I bought the CD, of course, at the San Diego, CA gig and Lisa and Vyvienne signed it. I've seem him live twice.Edited by: Soleillily
